Willy Hernangomez - C - Knicks
Willy Hernangomez is not happy being out of the rotation in New York.
"They tell me to be calm, and that I'm going to play," said Hernangomez. "But I want to play now, not sometime in the future, I like playing important minutes." Hernagomez added that he's not at the point where he'd request a trade and that Knicks' management have ensured him that they do indeed view him as a part of their future, but for now, he'll need to be patient.

i don't see him playing much this year. i think it's more likely noah takes whatever minutes are left over than him. he's probably gonna want out eventually.

Trade him. His development is being stunted on the bench. He and Kanter excel at exactly the same things and Kanter is just flat out the better player...and young himself. Might as well test the market and see what willy can get us

I feel bad for him, because I like him as a player, and I think he's both a great asset and will be a great player in the future. The problem is that the two guys ahead of him are playing way better right now. I hate to say it, but maybe he should be in the g-league for a bit.

I understand the frustration but Kanter is better and only 2 years older. Them's the breaks.

Unfortunately for him, Kanter makes him expendable. You wouldn't think it sometimes, but Kanter is only 2 years older than Willy.

Problem being he's losing value, and kanter is upping his to the point that he will be demanding a big contract if he isn't traded...

This will make him or break him.

He has the talent to be an awesome center in the league or he can wilt away from the adversity. It is Willy's choice really.

and if a person who's done literally nothing in the nba thinks highly enough of himself too request a trade, then its time to show him the door.

KP will not bat an eyelash if Willy leaves the team because he is moping.

KP is locked in on achieving his potential and being a great player and winning a ring. If Willy impedes that KP is not going to flip out. That narrative is false IMO.

I'm sure their friendship is real, but KP is shifting into alpha mode now so he is not going to let his personal feelings about Willy get in the way if decisions are made that continue to build this team into a contender.

Send him to the G league. Let him play with Burke there. End of season see what Kanter wants to do and then make decisions then. But for now, Willy needs to play and G league is perfect place to do that
