Take Ayton and trade KP.

im not a fan of the motor or his defensive IQ...I would rather have other prospects. The motor concerns the hell out of me.

How does Ayton have a motor issue? I've seen the kid play hard every game I've watched. Never saw him play lazy or careless. And his IQ is not bad for someone his age. His timing on the boards and blocking shots is almost elite.

this is the frank topic so gladly can move this to the draft thread to talk more in depth and keep this on topic but your acting like I would be the first person to question his motor, he tends to rely on the jumper and stay out of the paint more than I like for being a physical specimen. And his defense has been far from elite this year. He should be dominating on that end by his size and athleticism alone and he isn't.

Still an extremely talented player I just have other players over him.

I've thought this recently. Looks like that is where is game may be headed and the Knicks know it. If he doesn't grow 2-3 more inches, maybe he can still hold his own as a SF/SG with added strength.

P.S. I'm not sure he can be as good as Batum was when Batum didn't suck. But similar style.

But who knows, maybe Frank improves his handle and improves a lot over the summer. He is so young, coming from a different country. Have to give it time...but obviously you would love to see more.

Been saying this for a while. It'd be a good outcome tbh

I was initially thinking that he could develop into a better Livingston.

Livingston was way more crafty and has one of the illest floaters.

Yea, Frank is 19. I was just saying he could develop as such. I think it typically takes 3-5 years before most NBA players hit their stride. Hard for everyone to be amazing before age 21.

Outside of Tony Parker, how many 19-20 year old euro rooks actually did something in their first year?

Frank will be fine.... he may not be a full time point... but he will be a good player for us. Sit back and enjoy

Wish Knicks fans wouldn't overhype every draft pick.

The PG position is one of (if not the most) difficult position to master out of all 5 spots. It usually takes a young guy with 2-3 years of college experience at least 3 to 5 years in the NBA to really master all the nuances of the game.

Frank's coming from another country at such a young age so I really think he deserves at least 3 years or so before permanent critique is warranted. He's already a pretty good defender and if he learns how to really utilize his length and go after opposing PG's around half court, he could be an all NBA type of defender. It's still too early to tell but he's had some promising moments so I'm going to stay cautiously optimistic with his development.

Frank has been awful for most of the year but I'm not willing to write him off. Fran Fraschilla said on draft night Euro's usually have two rookie years. One to get used to the country and another to get used to the game. I'm starting to worry because most project players are raw athletic freaks and Frank's not that. He's going to need to take major strides this summer because there have been games that he looks like he doesn't belong in the league.

I’m with you

Two full years for frank seems needed
Which is why I’ve been against this start frank at all costs movement

What I don’t like in his game is mental. His lack of agressivness.

What I do like in his game is mental. His defensive iq and composure.

His lack of pure athleticism or a sweet jumper is ok. He can develop his game if he can get his focus on point

And it's not even as if Parker killed it his rookie season. Played 30 mpg but shot 41%, 9ppg, 2.6 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.2 spg.

Parker's per 36: 11.2 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.4 stls

Frank's per 36: 9.3 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 5.7 apg, 1.6 stls

The lesson is to not overreact to a rookie campaign from a 19 year old rookie PG from another country.

Frank needs to get his minutes but making him a starter at this point is a real bad idea. For the game he locked up Harden or Irving he's had games where TJ McConnell, Fred Van Fleet, and Caurso completely cook him. He really needs to come back next summer stronger, with better handles, and a floater. I don't think that's too much ask for.

Eric Snow :D

And to be honest, Snow had a solid career. I wouldn't be mad about it.

I don't wanna give up on Frank either but if for some crazy reason a team offers us a chance to move up to the top 5 by trading him and our pick you know I'm gonna do it
