The humor in it was pretty bad, they extremely rushed the second half & the character development (even for a blockbuster) was almost nonexistent.

I can tell you that you're in the minority in that thinking. You are indeed entitled to your opinion, but it is NOT the majority thinking for the film.

The first one did a fantastic job all around. Even nailing the nostalgic values.

Agreed.

Lack of character development as you say. (Romantic comedy girl & dumb action hero and dumb villain instead of Grant,Malcom etc.)

Lack of thrill/horror. (Kitchen scene, T-Rex crushing cars etc. in original)

Lack of scientific moments. (Dinner room speech, Egg hatching scene etc. in original)

Lack of animatronics in close shots. ( CGI dinousaurs feels lifeless next to real enviroment.)

Lack of updated science (First JP change people think about dinosaurs. Most of the people thought slow,dumb lizards before JP. Velociraptors are proven to be feathered animals now. It didn't add anything to 25 years ago movie just because some people against reality of feathered dinos.)

Over the top action scenes for JP movie.

Sharktopus level of creativity in story. Frankestein's dinousar. Dumb dino fights. Dinosaurs acting like human, saving different species lives, forgiving etc.

I can go on. All made fun in sense of fast and furious to some people. Killed the franchise for me because it's obvious they want some fast and furious, transformers, marvel type of movies instead old classics of 90's.

Even Lost World (which i dislike) had more JP feeling in it.

once every 2 years drop a movie with lots of dinosaurs wrecking chit. it'll wash down the original movie, but it'll also constantly do well in the box office because it'll be a great entertaining summer movie for the family because kids like dinosaurs and dads secretly do too.

That's usually the formula for ANY franchise.

i used fast and furious as an example because the movies had very little plot and all car races/crashes

jurassic park might just be a crappy plot but filled with action.

like michael bay and transformers, there's literally no plot in any of the transformers movies after the 2nd.
