Just build organically. Kemba would just make us a fringe playoff team with no further upside. You trade for Kemba when you think he can put you over the top and become an elite team. We preach patience but don't want to sit through it.

I'd rather go after Isaiah Thomas in free agency. Dont have to give up our 1st rounders or Frank.

Kanter opt out, trade C.Lee and hopefully Lance Thomas to create cap space.

Getting Kemba (27) would be a win now move IMO and we are very far from that state of consistent competitiveness

That trade isn't getting Kemba plus we're so far from being good.

I wouldn't give up much for Kemba. He hasn't done much more than bring ooohhhhs and aaaahhhhhs. Picks and/or youngsters for that is no bueno. Not the least bit excited.
Those last 70 seconds, Randle in a nut shell.

Awful 2 for 1 3PT attempt when we are up 2
Doesn’t close out on Sabonis --> open 3
Takes another side step off balance 3

We got sucked into the Randle vortex where all good feelings go to die.

If the Knicks want him, they should move Lee & LFT for shorter contracts / assets / prospects and stretch Noah. Sign him in 2019.

Even if they don’t want him, the Knicks should still do all that (except stretching Noah).

Saying Kemba sucks is foolish. He’d be great with Frank Doncic and KP.

Very risky to trade for Kemba Walker at 27 years of age

Knicks traded for Stephon Marbury about a month before turning 27 years old out. His body gave up on him about 3 years later.

I can't believe we signed Noah to a 4 year contract. I will never let that go.

I originally said I’d prefer to keep CLee and KOQ, but after looking back at the numbers, we could outright sign a max FA this summer if we were able to get rid of CLee and Lance in the deal for Kemba, and maybe get a late first sending KOQ elsewhere. Kanter is also likely going to opt out... he’s even hinting at it.

With that said, we’d have..

Noah- 18.5
THJr- 17.32
Kemba- 12
KP- 5.7
Baker- 4.55
Frank- 4.15
Willy- 1.55
Dot- 1.38

Total- 65.15

That’d put us in position to go after DeMarcus Cousins or Paul George.

Kemba Walker
Frank Ntilikina
Tim Hardaway Jr.
Kristaps Porzingis
DeMarcus Cousins

...that’s a far cry away from the Marbury/Eddy Curry years.

this is why I have a low post count. I got nothing to add to this other than "I'll take him on the right deal"

This is basically the most I would offer...

We really cannot be making deals like this. I would love for Kemba to be on this team, but that would have made more sense with Woodson, Melo, JR etc. Now we need to be taking the slow-cook method and just let some guys develop. Maybe he will be a FA when we have cap space?

What I want to know is why the guy wrote an article about how Hornets might have financial issues so he suggests moving the guy making 12 million per for 2 years, when they have a guy making 24 million for 4 more years.

Pretty sure which player they should be moving.

Baker/Lee/KOQ for Batum

I think the Knicks are still a few million short. Through in Sessions, who they'll waive.

I don't even like the trade I posted. It means being stuck with the team as is until Noah expires and then not much flexibility.
