True, but in a situation where a team may desperately need a veteran point guard. Sessions is a well respected player in the league. If we got a future 2nd for him or a low quality prospect I wouldn’t be completely surprised

We're not getting **** for Sessions unless we're taking back a bad deal in return, which isn't happening because we need the roster spot. Not even a top 59 protected pick. He's useless.

Maybe there's a brief hold as Mills/Perry explore using Sessions $ amount combined with someone on the Knicks (KOQ, WHG?) for 1 player coming back - and Sessions get cut by the other team?

Probably because Burke isn't going to get minutes.

the g league is closer to and 1 mixtape than it is the nba

and we got people on here claiming burke is better than frank and jack

27 and 10 in the g league means NOTHING

wish him the best regardless - players can improve

Maybe KOQ, but I don't think it's him. I keep repeating myself over and over again, but the Knicks want to keep KOQ going forward (as of the last time I spoke with ____). WHG and Sessions is just over 2 mill, so we're not getting anything good (picks wise) just for taking on an extra million. I also can't see us trading WHG for nothing because he's on a cost controlled super cheap contract for two more years.

If a deal gets made, its guaranteed WIlly or KOQ is included along with Sessions.

Sessions alone in a trade isnt worth anything. Hes honestly not even worth a late 2nd rounder.

We're talking about Sessions.

I think we're looking for trades for KOQ/Willy, not Sessions, but if we can't find a trade for them, we cut Sessions

koq wont be moved till the deadline

wily is at nowhere near his real/potential value - would be asinine to deal him (and they won't)

you dont force/manufacture a trade of legit assets to make room for a journeyman g leaguer

no one will trade for kanter this year

he has an 18mill PO

he only has value next year (if he opts in), as then he is a contributing expiring

Didn't ask because this was before he was eligible, IIRC. Convo started off talking about how Noah made everything more difficult - that's when I brought up KOQ and he said yah exactly because the team wants him back, but they need to figure out at what cost (he mentioned 7-10, 10 being higher).

If we are closing in on being fully out of the playoffs by the deadline, my prediction is that Kanter is the one moved - this is based on the previously mentioned convo and another one I had with ____ talking about the direction of the team and how they have multiple plans in place (and keep coming up with more). ****** This is me reading into what was said -- NOTHING was said about Kanter in any convo I had with anyone within the Knicks organization.******

I'm more excited for Burke than I should be. Can't wait for Jeff to never let him get off the bench. I can't wait for our inevitable losing streak.

Without revealing too much

Let's say the Knicks like Kyle - fair enough in that he just might be the best all around C on the team
And WHG makes sense to keep, as he's cheap and cost controlled (I've said that myself)

any inclination on what their thoughts are because:
Kanter most surely is optining IN
And Noah has two more years after this

Is the plan to ride it out? Meaning Kanter and Noah's deals?

I hope I'm wrong but probably what happens is that Burke ends up like Jimmer or Randle.

I'd tell you guys if I had any idea, y'all know that.

When we spoke about Noah, we talked about how he's basically hampered the next few years in terms of getting guys via FA. Obviously that can change, but I got the impression that this meant the Knicks are going to be looking more for internal development than external / by signing guys. I also got the impression that we're stuck with Noah just based on what was said and how he said it.

Kanter, no idea. I'd just bet that seeing as we have legitimate interest in retaining KOQ and we are looking for internal development (keep Willy), I can see us parting ways with Kanter either at the trade deadline (maybe take on a deal that is longer but we get asset(s)) or to a team like the Bucks or another team that needs post scoring, OR I can see us letting him go by FA.

But let's be serious, the dude got outplayed by Jennings last year, and putting up numbers in the G league is meaningless

Plus, he probably won't get minutes right away either. Jack will still start, and we're not benching Frank for Burke, that's just silly. He'll get time when Jack inevitably gets injured, and Frank will start

TBH, Jennings would be the best PG on our roster (aside from Frank) right now, so that is not saying much.
