You know %90 chance next head coach of Knicks is one of Doc Rivers Mark Jackson Jason Kidd, pick your poison

Hurts even more when 25/30 of the league right now are actually good coaches

Knicks need to hire a coach the casual fan has never heard of.

Take a page from the Celtics playbook and hire a smart coach coming from college. Or a well respected (youngish) assistant who has put in work and has a high IQ.

OMG That list is so bad. I'd prob have to take Doc out of that list. Lesser of the 3 evils.

I think everyone would agree with this. The problem here will always be ownership. The Knicks have a reputation as an impossible place to succeed/win. The layers of MSG redtape go on for miles.

I think Hornacek will still be the coach next year. You can't win without the talent.

We hear this every time there is a coach search. We end up getting someone completely different. I think there is no chance Mark Jackson will coach this team. If we are going for the usual suspects (we won't), I want Ewing.

Im hoping so. He is still a respected figure in the league. He does need to improve, but Rambis should be the scapegoat this season.

I thought about it. We NEED Mark.
Now he’s gonna have to hire some really good assistants and development guys but this team, particularly our PGs need confidence. One guy’s scared to go into the paint and the other doesn’t have a clue what to do once he gets there. A lot of it is skill that needs to be worked on in the summer as well as both players’ conditioning. But they need a guy to tell them they’re every bit as good as anybody who laces it up across from them and they were both high draft picks for a reason. Jeff is more a scheme and x and o guy than people give him credit for, as evidenced by our bouncy motion offense. We’ve NEVER had a motion offense not even with Pringles. But where Jeff fails this crew is in the leadership and management department. What both these super sized point guards need is confidence. They need to embody their coach. Mark would have these kids thinking they’re the next Clyde and Earl.

Then once he gets them all frothy at the mouth, we fire him, maybe Scott too....and yunno, hire wiypipo to reap the benefits. Yup. But Steve goes nowhere. Lol.

I would love us bringing in an unheralded college guy like Shaka Smart or Tony Bennett but where we sit now we need the coach and environment to build these guys up. I’ll never forget Mark on the sidelines in that preacher man voice of his telling Steph Curry he should feel disrespected that he’s taking him out for defense and challenging him to become a better defender. And it totally worked. He has to have a great lead assistant and we need some development coaches. But I wouldn’t mind seeing what Mark could do with his dream job.
