According to a report from Vincent Goodwill of NBC Sports Chicago, the Bulls will be trading the forward to the New Orleans Pelicans in exchange for a first round pick and center Omer Asik.

Silver lining is that it weakens the Bulls which could improve our 2nd rounder we have from them.

Bulls smart enough to tank, plus take on salary for picks, while the Knicks will tread water. Looks like another team, along with Philly, the Knicks will be looking up at in the standings for years to come.

This is actually a good fit as long as Niko can provide the same production he's shown over the last month or so

I think we all have to start realizing that the knicks will never be a smartly run orginization. At least not in our lifetime.

In their defense, the roster they inherited was kind of a mess, but they immediately lost all flexibility for the year with the THJr deal.

Now, I still think he's worth his contract. But there's the matter of if it was worth it to the Knicks to give out that contract at that time.

He is up and down he will have these great game 20 and 15 one night and next 8 and 5

Was hoping we would get a 1st from New Orleans.

Those guys have consistently traded their 1st rounders ever since they acquired Davis.

Our 2nd round pick looking better finally.

Given our salary situation after next season is outstanding even with the THJ contract, which you correctly point out is not a bad contract, it was fine giving him that deal. The real key is not spending money this summer or taking on money this trade deadline. I'm sure the whiners will be out in full force that we are doing nothing and we should be dealing Lee for a first (fat chance of that without taking back money), but we are in a position where we don't have to do much except let our young guys grow.

We would have had to take on 15m in guaranteed salary to get it done. That's too much for a pick that's gonna be in the high teens/low 20's.

We don't have anything to give that would net us just a first round pick. We would have to take on money too. Lee, Lance, KOQ, these are not great assets and people have to stop pretending that they are. MAYBE Willy could fetch us a late first but even then I doubt it.
