Anyone read that article in the Post today about the Crying Draft Kid?

I'm an adult male, but I swear, I want to give that kid the biggest atomic wedgie

Hence all the Youtube videos and Instagram stuff etc. Yeah, I get it's the modern athlete, but it's pretty obvious it's all pretty calculated as well.

Now, the question is, is KP more that hardworking guy determined to be a star or a guy a little bit caught up in the fame and sort of steered that way by his family (Janis)

Won't be the first or last time a talented kids got lead astray a bit.

I think both but how can I judge him. You got guys promoting $500 sneakers, LeBron actually representing other players (which I can't understand how that's not a conflict of interest) and all sorts of nonsense. These days there's nothing wrong with just about anything so long as you can perform

It really isn't a problem. The problem, if anything, is with Janis. If Janis values hype over substance to the degree it clouded his judgement on the trainer, and KP winds up blowing out his knee again, then basically what happened is KP had a level of trust in his brother (normal - no criticism here) that his brother didn't deserve.

That one knowledgeable poster here made a pretty good case for KP training all wrong. This self promoting ex MMA guy doesn't seem like a good choice.

I've come around to the idea that based on these two events, KP blows out his knee again next season he plays. Unfortunately.

Well at the end of the day it's the Knicks who decide when thier asset can play or not, but that's not necessarily good news. The Knicks always rush players back too soon, but my point is we have the power

Wonder why noone has said KP's ACL operation was done by some charlatan so it will definitely get torn again.

Is it really common that the club is not involved at all in their player's rehab? I'd think they at minimum have to sort of approve the rehab program that KP is undergoing or something. So maybe, just maybe the Knicks are not that opposed to that trainer KP and Jānis chose.

Who knows. I don't care if the club is involved or not. It's more that the trainer he did pick doesn't seem like the best guy and is sort of celebrity driven. I could be completely wrong but that one poster (sorry I forgot your name) made some really compelling points. Hope I'm wrong and KP is never hurt again.

It probably would be better if they did. Because if the club's specialists could point out the mistakes in the rehab/training process, there's a bigger chance they would turn attention to them and it would be corrected than if someone from RealGM board writes it and it catches KP's or his team's eye. Even though I agree, that poster had a lot of sense in his posts and he was right when pointed out the potential problems.

eh...

I am so ambivalent about KP right now. His first three years here were dominated by injuries and fatigue. I see no reason that's going to change. I would be happy if the Knicks could get a top-10 lottery pick for him--I think committing to him long-term would be a mistake.

Nah, he's not worth that much. The knicks are stuck with him. :noway:

You guys are disgusting...

Kristaps Porzingis games played per season:

1st year 72/82
2nd year 66/82
3rd year 48/82

Joel Embiid
1st year (2014-2015) 0/82
2nd year 0/82
3rd year 31/82
4th year 63+/82

With only 4 games left in the season, Joel Embiid doesn't top KP's first season and will surpass KP's second season by ONE game IF he plays every game remaining.

You know who else KP played MORE games than...after his first two seasons? Patrick Ewing.

Yeah, you trolls would have asked the Knicks trade Ewing after 2 seasons. This IS why the Knicks' fans don't deserve a winning team.

Be angry at the owner who SHAMED the Knicks in the treatment of ex-players, ex-coaches...

Be angry at past and present Team Presidents who were caught in a sexual harassment case (Isiah), overpaid for mediocre free agents, or alienated and de-valued future hall of famers (Phil Jackson)...

Be angry at coaches who are terrible at teaching and getting through to players...or distracting by sleeping with a player's ex-wife.

And DEFINITELY be angry at the current coach, GM, and trainers who FAILED to listen to the player who said, "My knee doesn't feel right." Embiid has a minutes restriction most nights, so he stays loose but not overtaxed. He can grow into that body. KP gets a "holiday" like you do for every 5-6 straight days of work. One is the healthy way to build up endurance. The other is just stupid.

This forum has reached a new level of insanity: Let's channel ALL our disappointment in a 22-year old kid and an 18-year old kid.

There are no Knicks unicorns on Jen Selter’s radar these days, it seems.

Following her winter pursuit of Kristaps Porzingis, it appears the Instagram superstar has moved on to a new sport and athlete entirely, taking in the Yankees’ 7-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday in the Bronx. Selter, 24, who currently follows Bombers slugger Aaron Judge on social media, also shared a few snaps from her day at the ballpark.

Image

“Let’s go @yankees,” she exclaimed on Instagram, as shortstop Didi Gregorius went up to bat.

While Judge, 25, has yet to follow Selter back, it seems the fitness model is hoping to mend the outfielder’s broken heart, following his rumored split from girlfriend Jen Flaum.

“Jen [Selter] has been following him since November trying to get his attention,” an insider told Sports Gossip.com. “She doesn’t follow many people on Instagram and the ones she does are usually in fitness as she is. She also never attends Yankee games, but all of the sudden has an interest after news of Aaron’s breakup from his girlfriend hit.”

Judge had been linked to Flaum since last year. The couple even dressed as Lois Lane and Superman for Halloween. Judge no longer follows Flaum on Instagram.

Selter previously piqued the interest of Judge’s teammate Clint Frazier in 2016, after he was acquired in a trade with the Indians. The 23-year-old outfielder, who is currently on the DL recovering from a concussion, has since moved on to girlfriend Faith Jewkes.

Celtics fan.
We also face the Kings twice in the near future. I think it's time Yabu pays back some of that free money he's been given his entire career and bounces Fox for a nice 2 week ankle sprain.

I find that weird also. Why follow this kid?

On a side-note, I swear, never in history have there been people with less talent getting such cult followings. I mean this kid, the Kardashians, SNOOKI!?!? Have our standards dropped so much that we resort to caring about no talent, uninteresting idiots to get us through our days? I don't get it. I really don't get it.
