Yeah I was about to say this isn't even a bad deal. Knicks would give him 80m or more

33 million tied up in two players indifferent towards or not talented in defense.

Sounds great.

Disagree heavily. First, I'm not sure this guy could take the floor in the playoffs in crunch time. He's improved defensively, but he can be taken out of the game. Second, if you look at this past off-season, most players didn't get paid unless they were studs. Most centers got paid shat money. Now Kanter is probably better than most, but I'd definitely go with paying someone like KOQ less as a role player and strengthening the rest of the team. And even this next off-season, with 8 teams with cap space and lotto ambitions, there's no need to overbid. 15 mill/year is disastrous for Kanter.

But anyway, we're probably going to give him a 4th year player option and a trade kicker.

You guys preach non-stop about Defense. When return of the matter is winning teams need and have BALANCE!

The 90s Knicks failed in the Playoffs because they streaky massive scoring droughts. The Spurs, Warriors & Cavs have just as many OFFENSIVE guys as Defensive guys.

Matter-a-fact, the Cavs DIDN'T win their 1st Championship UNTIL they added scorers and 3PT specialists. Because at the end of the day you still need to put the ball in the basket. $15 Mil/year for 4 years is fantastic deal in today's NBA Cap for an efficient double-double Center like Kanter who can play WITHIN a system.

Some of y'all see just blinded by biased hate.
