What's interesting is that the Knicks have given up the most points to a team (Toronto) as well as scored the least points ( vs. Orlando) in two games where Kanter hasn't even played in. For as much hate as Kanter gets, you'd think the Knicks would look better without him. Have they looked better in ANY game that he hasn't played in?

We do need better perimeter defenders though, I think that's been the biggest issue for the team. We can't defend the 3 point line (nor can we shoot from the outside either but that's a different story) and even against Orlando this was evident. We got torched by Mario Hezonja and our summer league prospect Jamel Artis. So......Yeah! Get some defense on the wings first and foremost, that's been our issue for a while now. Eventually Porzingis should move to the Center position but he obviously has to get stronger. Ideally that's what would be the best for the team but you need the right wings around him to make that work. Not only do we need guys around him that can crash the boards and rotate on the perimeter and chase guys off the 3 point line, but we also need guys that can get back in transition because if you don't have a guy like Kanter cleaning up the offensive boards all those times KP puts up bricks when he's having those 6 for 20 shooting nights, then you absolutely need guys that will get back on defense in transition. And yes, the Knicks have been getting destroyed on the glass without Kanter, not only with a lack of offensive rebounds but even grabbing defensive rebounds seems to be a difficult task. So we better find wings that can pull down boards.
