just have KP sit out the next year and develop frank

KP, Frank, Mikal and a top pick next year is much better than Bagley/SGA/Knox and a top pick.

I think KP will play as soon as he's healthy and cleared by medical staff. He's not missing the whole year if he doesn't have to.

You know I'm a big Doncic fan...I would take him #1...but I don't see the point. KP is 22 he's already proven he can play at a high level in the league. Why do we keep swapping out one player for another player.

I would look for more then just one high lottery pick for KP...and that is only if he has distance himself so far that you don't think he has any interest in resigning which is ridiculous because we will pay him the max and he wont risk that coming off an injury.

I actually think with this Kawhi news and with KP huge deal luming. There might be some agreement that KP and his medical team don't rush back and we are ok with it as long as he's committed to signing the extension with us.

He even started backing off his comments about wanting to come back fast in his exit interview about coming back at the right time when he feels good.

If we start off terrible I see no reason why he would come back unless its just to get his feet wet again. But it would be pretty foolish from his camp if he hasn't signed that max extension to come back and possibly hurt himself again. I see more players starting to pull what Kawhi is doing especially if they don't have long term $$$ locked up.

The problem is that most teams won’t give more for KP due to the injury and major contract incoming for him. I think the Grizz might because a KP-Gasol frontcourt could be devastating. Fine last scenario for you. We trade KP but we don’t trade Frank and the 9th.

Frank
Doncic
Mikal

how is that any better than KP, Frank, and Mikal? Seems like we would be shuffling the deck just to shuffle it

Purely hypothetical not saying I want to trade KP, but the benefits would obviously be having Luka on a cheap contract for 4 more seasons without any injuries.
