Can he function as a SG? He's listed as SF.

I mean, even at times. Not that the Knicks will have that many minutes at SG.

I'd like this signing. I think the Magic made a mistake letting him go. It's a chance to get a decent young player another team did the development on, but gave up.

He's best at power forward position. He struggled alot while playing SG previous seasons.

His defense needs works but he about 6-8 and play sf,pf and sg. I would love this move.

Mario would be the ideal 6th man for this club.

Knicks trade Courtney Lee to Indiana for Al Jefferson

Knicks trade THJ, Burke, Baker, Future 2nd, Cash Considerations for George Hill (2nd year is not guaranteed)

SIgn Mario to MLE

Tim and Trey for Michael Kidd Gilchrist and a protected pick? Would Charlotte be dumb enough to—I mean—you think Charlotte does this? It’s Operation Keep Kemba.
They gotta get him some help to get him in the playoffs.

You don’t trade Trey when you have his bird rights and plan on offering max contracts next summer. Trey as a 3rd guard behind Kyrie/Frank would be so dynamic.
Brooklyn Nets
Damian Lillard - Rajon Rondo - Trey Burke
Victor Oladipo - Wes Matthews - Javon Carter
Caris LeVert - Derrick Jones Jr. - Glenn Robinson III
Andre Igoudala - Killian Tillie - Trey Lyles
Joel Embiid - Taj Gibson - Kevon Looney

Damn, so you’ll really hate my next idea. Lol

If Kanter opts out by some chance and we trade Lee, would you throw a Timmy-like offer sheet at Zack Lavine?

He could easily be another Dipo (in terms of a star spike in development) type because he’s barely scratching the surface of how good he could be as a lead guard.

Obviously his health would be a concern but if he checks out (he never had injuries before the knee) Chi is known for being pretty cheap and they likely don’t match.

If they do they we put a dent in their cap. Long term he’s a phenomenal fit with KP-Knox-Frank. He’s only 23. I don’t believe Kyrie is coming here one bit. And his knee’s as big a risk as anyone’s. He and Frank would compliment each other like they expected Dunn and he to compliment each other.

I think he’s severely underrated and I’d get him before he starts proving on that potential. Kinda like whet we say we’re doing with Tim and paying him for the better days to come, so to speak. This makes a lot more sense to me than Timmy’s acquisition. $85M for four years.

Yes. I said it.

If it were Dipo last year and he was free agent and we signed him right now we’d be very happy. Different player types but still...

This kid is 23 and has improved a lot every year. He was finding his groove with Chi but then they hit the tank button and sat everybody with as much as a hangnail it seemed. He’d electrify the Garden with his high flying and shooting. Fiz would get him defending.

I’m so not into waiting for free agency as any kinda end all. If you’re doing things right when free agency comes you actually have valuable guys that you can move easily if necessary.

He’s a gamble but I think one completely worth taking.

KP/Robinson
?/2019 draft pick
Knox
Lavine
Frank

Eventually we move Tim. And if we don’t he’s my sixth man.

I'm a big Z.Lavine fan and agree that he's a better player then some think. Every time he starts getting his game going he would come up with a pretty serious injury that would stall him. It happened in Minn and happened in Chicago.

If Kanter opts out, I think we approx 28 million assuming 105 salary cap. What about going after jabari parker (15 mil) and mario (13mil) Or are we wishing for kyrie next year?
