This poll is flawed in the first place. Only 4 Cavs fans voted and I would say over half of Cavs fans think LeBron is staying, so they probably voted Mikal because he is a guy that can contribute right away.

I think most people believe they will take Mikal if Lebron stays. If he goes I can see Wendell Carter/Bridges/Bridges/Sexton at their pick. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Sexton go to the Cavs.

The draft will happen before LeBron will decide if he's staying or not. He's probably not going to make/ communicate that decision before July 1st. He hasn't ever before. CAVs have to go BPA (with upside), not fit. I believe they need star power, I also believe Mikal doesn't have it. He'll be a solid starting pro but not STAR. A lot of people think Sexton has more *star* potential.

As far as the player I would want (Miles) but I would prefer to trade down to get him by using Carter.

BPA doesn’t always work out. Some would argue Miles has the higher ceiling.

Hard to pass on Wendell though. He will be a stud in the league.

Best option truly is to trade down to #12 and #13. Move Trey Burke in the deal if needed. Clippers move up to take Wendell Carter.

Agreed, I have no doubts that Wendell is a good player. My thing though is what does he do for us radically different than what we now do as a team. In today's nba he's essentially a 6'9 C who leaves KP at PF. How's that any different than what I get between Kanter and Oquinn.

Now I get that even if he were equivalent to them it's a rookie deal, allowing you to shed them and have money elsewhere but I just don't feel like life changes for us much. At best what can happen? Wendell becomes an instant double double while KP averages 6, we still don't defend the 3pt line and what....? We still suck at SF or SG? But again, this isn't to say I don't acknowledge his talent.

I'm searching for wings. So what I agree with is your second idea. With picks 12&13 you could grab 2 wings actually. Or maybe you grab a wing and grab a slightly lesser big if you really feel it's necessary in Robert Williams. So I'm definitely down for trading down. I'd be happy of we walked away with perhaps Lonnie Walker and Williams

I’m a Miles fan, and would be happy with him on our squad. Still, the more time I spend on this, the harder it would be to pass on Carter if he’s available at 9.

Very skilled, hard worker, very bright. His high floor does not seem to be in question, while his ceiling could be higher than conventional wisdom now supposes.

Passing on the other options was not difficult.

Wendell carter, good potential and very complementary to KP. He could be our Horford. Miles I have some doubts about him, remind more tobias harris or even beasley.

I'm surprised Collin Sexton has such few amount of votes. Likewise surprised at the amount of support for Wendell Carter. Carter is a big I am not convinced would work next to KP. It forces KP into PF role and not sure how smart that is with him coming off a torn ACL. Adding Carter just keeps us bogged down as a slow outdated roster constructed team.

Iono man. It's Sexton or Miles for me if Mikal is off the board.

I go Miles here but I’d honestly trade down if this plays out this way.

Maybe for 17 and Thon Maker (somehow maybe working with the Clippers assuming DJ opts in, getting him to Milwaukee somehow, Miami with Whiteside)?
I know, it’s a reach. But I expect some creativity from Scott. Wasn’t the Dwight trade his claim to fame? Correct me if I’m wrong. But that was a complicated 2K looking azz deal and they (Orlando) actually ended up with the best guy in Vucevic when it was all said and done. Last draft’s trade back in Sacto suggests Scott ain’t afraid to go there as well.

And at 17 draft Melvin Frazier (probably ten spots too high) then Billy Preston with our second rounder? Last I remember Billy, he was a good shooter for a big, wasn’t overly athletic but smart, a poor man’s Wendell (but probably more perimeter oriented) of sorts. Throwbackish. He actually reminded me of a young Kurt Thomas.

I’m really, REALLY high on Melvin Frazier.
Mikal is gonna be a fine player but this kid has some Kawhi in him too. And it ain’t just the braids.
I’m super envious of that Tatum/Brown pseudo Allan/Spree thing Ainge got in Beantown.
We need guys that’ll go at them for the next decade.
This kid has the demeanor to play in NYC.
And he loves playing defense. He mighta sunk a few dudes’ stock at the combine with how he locked them down (Shake Milton was one if I recall correctly).
Good slasher and could hit an open three.
Very good and lengthy athlete.
Big active hands.
Capable with and without the ball.

Ideally we’d target him with our second rounder but he’s gone before then.

I’m still a Miles fan but I keep thinking Justise Winslow on the measurables, different players but who does he guard in the league? It may sound silly but if we had a Dantoni or a coach that just wanted to run and shoot threes I’d try to make this kid this generations LJ/Barkley, play him at the four and cook up with a team defense to hide him somehow. Somehow.
Just run all day and let him face up and attack.
He’d average 15 ppg as a rook for sure.
The fans would approve. Our Denniz Smiff of the draft.
But it isn’t the soundest approach to rebuilding this roster. Someone brought up Kenny Walker....
Yeah. I dunno.

Here's a name I see a lot of similarities with Wendell but never really hear others say.. Demarcus Cousins (without the bad attitude)

I like Wendell but nothing jumps out to me saying he could be the best big in this draft as some would say.

You shoot for the moon in this scenario, and take the player with most upside, and pray Fiz can develop him.

I'd really struggle leaving Wendell Carter on the board here.
