KP still have to develop an isolation game other than shooting over people. I believe Fiz will put Kp on the move. Knox and KP pick and pop is whooo. What spacing.

Waiting For when Kobe does the mamba mentality breakdown for Knox. Tatum's even made me ball better.

He also has to get better at drawing contact in some of these situations, which is amazing given how much he already gets to the line. He's going to live at the FT eventually. When he drives left and tries to finish with his right he tends to float or drift and avoid contact.

The other thing I've noticed about his offensive game is that his shooting inconsistencies stem from him slightly short-arming some jump shots. When he struggled the first two games he wasn't fully extending his right arm, which will lead to inconsistencies and a less accurate & flatter shot, instead of finishing with that long/straight arm in his follow through. He did that in the second half vs the Lakers and he was on fire. He gets consistent with that he's going to be a 40% 3PT guy.

yeah, man. I love that he's taking contact more in summer league. He's still, like you said, trying to side step/work around it a lot and then float it up there (like he did mostly at Kentucky).

I didn't notice the short arm stuff you mention, but makes sense. It really was great to see him takeover a game like he did in that 3rd quarter. IIRC, think he only did that once (against WVU) in college.

Side note, I'm so tired of that article opening. Every writer, broadcaster, commentator says something to that effect whenever they start talking about the knicks.

It's so played... even Kevin kind of acknowledges how played it is when he says "Knicks fans need no reminding, but it’s been downhill in the 2000s..."

I really wanted Trae Young -- I think our missing him by a few spots may wind up being somewhat of a reprise of Curry/2009 (though probably not that bad obviously). And yeah, had we taken Porter, at least you could dream about the upside. Kevin Knox reeks of a Jordan Hill-ish-type pick where the organization just really didn't have an idea, so it went with a perceived safe option. Meh, the sad reality is that there is not a single good basketball player on the New York Knicks. That includes KP. He is a good player for one month a year, that's it. That's all he's ever accomplished. I'm not saying this to be pessimistic, though -- I'm actually getting at the silver lining: 1.) We'll be back in this next year LOL; 2.) The bar is so low for Knox that if he's anything resembling a legitimate NBA talent, he'll soon be a fan favorite.

Early favorite for worst post of the year?

KnicksFan7 wrote:No problem with this pick. I live down in Tampa where he grew up and went to high school (Tampa Catholic). I spoke to a few people that know him. He's a great kid with a solid support system. I remember reading about him in the paper.

He's very coachable and does what is asked of him which is why sometimes he'll go off and other nights he won't. He is not a highlight reel but will be a quality player that has loads of upside for the future. Honestly, this is a very solid pick for us.
