Foot injury. Duke is just being very cautious with him.

how do you feel about zion talent wise

Biggest riser for me. All things I've heard so far is RJ has lived up to expectations so far and more, Zion's ball handling has been a pleasant surprise as well.

Cam to me is still the #1 guy if he can get a fire lit under him (like him more than any other Duke wing in the OAD era), but I'm not holding out hope on that sadly.

From what I've been hearing is guys are really struggling to stay in front of Zion. His handle has gotten tighter and his first step is very quick, and is a fantastic finisher.

Right now I probably have it

#1 Zion
#2 RJ
#3 Little
#4 Cam

I like Rui in the same way I like Troy Brown last year

He seems like a good player, but unless he has a monster season, we're gonna have too high of a pick for me to consider him

At first I wasn't either but he grew on me. I think he is gonna be one of those late-bloomers who takes a big leap in production and confidence in one season. I think this is his year.

he can end up as a top 5 pick. his potential is that high

I can see a poor man's Jabari the way he attacks down hill and looks to finish at the cup.

The key to unlock top 7 lottery slot potential is he has to start becoming a threat from 3 with the jumper.

cam is the most talented one but his jumper form and motor concerns me

I hate how a lot of these college systems hold their players back.

Yeah, for a team like the Knicks Hachimura makes more sense than a project like Doumbouya cuz he can contribute from day 1. Where you'd have to develop Doumbouya before you can see any on court production.

Hachimura > Doumbouya especially if we land a max free agent like Kyrie Irving.

Zion really piques my interest. I was actually gonna throw the Miles comparison out there too. But I am more high on Zion it seems than you are. So I'ma say he is Miles on 'roids. A rich man's Miles. Way bigger, stronger, more explosive, longer wingspan, more power, just as good a handle, and heavier at the same height. Just inferior to Miles with the jumper/3pt shot but I think he can carve out a unique impact and cause mismatches as a tweener even without the jumper.

Check him out when you can. I watched a bunch of his games playing for Poitiers and watched all of his stuff from the U18s (Frank!) and wasn't that impressed. I see potential, but he was multiple steps slow on defense, his finishing was atrocious (Synergy backed it up too - 11%ile around rim, 39.1%), and his shot wasn't great either (44th percentile and the form last year was not great, but 63rd in catch and shoot - 36% shooting, though). Showed very little playmaking too...so those "next Giannis" comparisons are, as of now at least, WAY off. His shot and form both look better in the clip that I saw from a few weeks back, so that's a great sign.

Curious how the change in teams will affect him (playing for Limoges this season) - I'm hoping to see him try to take on a bigger load on offense and make a huge step on defense...or at least show more than he did last year, because the defense is pretty much hype at the moment...and his wingspan isn't great, IIRC. Sub 7' for someone 6'9 and is a PF, or at best a combo F, is not great for someone who needs work in the skill department.

That said, he's young and definitely has room to grow in terms of body + game. I spoke with Fraschilla a few times at SL and he really likes him. This year is obviously going to be a big one, as he is projected to enter the draft. I want to see more "skill" from him on both ends, particularly on offense, and want to see him work on his defense - rotating, off ball, stance, playing stronger, etc

My question was directed at those who have him in their top 5 - just seems a bit odd to me. (I have a good feeling you'll end up watching his games just because that's who you are, haha.)

Most of y'all super high on Little but I don't like him as an ideal pick for the Knicks. He is more of a competitor/motor type than a skill type to me. And I prefer we go for a skill heavy guy with high upside offensively as a go-to guy.

So for the Knicks I prefer Cam Reddish, Romeo Langford, or RJ Barrett as SG/SF skilled wing options.

I view Little as more of a standard SF incapable of playing any SG. He'd actually swing more between SF/PF than SG/SF. So I group him more in with guys like Zion, Rui, and Sekou than Cam, Rome, or RJ.

To me, Little is not in the upper echelon in the ball skills departments. He is upper echelon in defense, motor, intensity, and competitiveness. Not bad things at all but I just want this last lottery pick to be a high upside top tier skill guy.

More Kobe Bryant light (Romeo Langford) than Gerald Wallace light (Nassir Little).

I like Rui quite a bit, but whoever is going to pick him needs to figure out if they're getting the Japan Rui or the Gonzaga one. If it's the Japan one, awesome. If it's the Gonzaga one from last year, I'm less intrigued.

If he's able to play the same role for Gonzaga, or show the same stuff he showed in FIBA play, then he's going to be an easy lotto pick. I really hope Few gives him the keys, because he showed some flashes last year throughout the season...but I want to see him to be given a little bit more freedom, because we've seen what he can do during FIBA play when he has it - which bodes well for his projection to the NBA because of the style, system, spacing, pacing, etc that teams play with in the NBA (and FIBA) vs college.

I had a back and forth with someone from Japan on Twitter sometime last month and he agreed, which was cool. Japan Rui has more freedom and is more aggressive; Gonzaga Rui is more system based.

*I do like Rui...again, like I said in the beginning, quite a bit. Could be a nice riser throughout the season, even though he does have a floor of like 20 or so?

The season can't get started quickly enough. I need to watch the Kentucky games when I get back from my cruise tomorrow...and then we have the Duke preseason next week!
