Depends on what games you watched. He looked awful for the first couple games and then broke out against the Knicks and then had a couple more really good games after that

21 points 11 assists against Knicks
24 points (7 threes) against Bulls
23 points 8 assists against Pacers

You can't really say he looked awful in summer league when he had so many spectacular moments. To sum up his overall performance you could say it was up and down and inconsistent (like it is for most rookies) but you can't sum up his entire SL as awful since he had so many amazing moments after his poor start.

Jennings scored 50 in first season. And that was a NBA game.
How many points or 3s Trae Young made doesnt look that bright for me.
Lets see if he can defend his position against real competition. %fg, asist to turnover ratio is what I'm interested in Trae Young.
Curry is good playmaker and above average defender for his position. And its not about his range or quick shot alone. He's really efficient on offense.

The kid won't match Curry as a shooter, but he can be a more creative playmaker than Steph.

If the Hawks were dumb enough to think Trae Young will be a better playmaker than Steph Curry; Atlanta had the rights to Doncic who will be a much better all-around player than Trae Young.

You're going off topic though because we're not talking about relevancy of SL games. If so then what was the point of bringing up how "awful" he looked in SL as if that was gonna show something. The "couldn't score 20 in SL" statement was inaccurate but it clearly shows that somebody was trying to make a point about SL. Now that we established that statements was inaccurate we're going to set new standards for what "awful" means and all of a sudden we are talking about Brandon Jennings and regular season games and whatnot?

I get what you're trying to say but it really has nothing to do with the summer tournament that somebody brought up. As far as I know all the rookies need to prove things in real games but we're talking about SL at the moment so if you want to say Kevin Knox had an awful SL because he had terrible shooting % then I'm still going to disagree.

Dekker was on my list of guys we should go after as a lottery ticket. The kid can play but is apparently a knucklehead. Didn’t see if anything was even given up for him.

I’d love it a lot more if they weren’t trying so hard to become a GSW knockoff. I have no doubts that they’ll pick Zion to be “their Draymond” after having drafted “their Steph” this year.

The vision was pretty damn solid. The kid will be a 20/10 guy if he can have better shot selection and the defense doesn’t keep him off the floor n

Doncic will be 20/10 at least a season sooner AND already a playmaker. There's really no reason why the Hawks chose to trade the rights for Doncic in order to get Trae Young. It's a huge mistake.

Preaching to the choir when it comes to Doncic. I would have taken him #1 overall without hesitation.

I thought him and KP were a terrific pairing. I must have posted the below gif about 10,000x last year b/c I wanted to be put in a position to draft him.

My post was strictly about what Trae does well and his upside.

Greg Monroe just signed a 1 yr deal for $2.2M. That is what Kanter is worth.

Greg Monroe who thought he'd go to the Bucks because he wanted to go to a contender, the Bucks couldn't wait to trade him away...after racking up from frequent flier mileage, he rides the bench in Boston...and now, he's headed to Toronto where most NBA players go to retire like the Dream. Hey, wasn't this the guy that some Knick fans wanted?!?!

So with Philly, is it a prerequisite that all their draft picks get hurt before suiting up? Is THAT the damn process? Latest of the walking wounded, Zhaire Smith.

Called an injury happening to this kid a while back in the Draft Thread. But the search function is being a gardening tool. Hopefully he has a speedy recovery.

Trust the process, right?

I actually hope Mikal becomes the piece they desperately need. That was foul what they did to him.

Surprised no one has picked up on this, there’s a reason they’re “injured”. Philly realized that throwing the wolves to the fire is dumb so give them a year or less to sit, watch and learn how to be an adult in the NBA, similar to back in the day when QBs would sit and grab a clipboard.

So you’re insinuating he isn’t hurt?

So they’re intentionally injuring their players...? Yeah, no. No conspiracy theories, please. Teams don’t fake injuries to let them sit a year.
