Negative unless you're working off the assumption that all positions are created equal. Players add value based on what they contribute to the team's chances not what they do in relation to their position...this isn't the NBA all roles/positions can't contribute equal value. I'm going to repeat if the Giants aren't able to adequately address their QB position soon then this is a major F up. Quick what would it take to acquire Leveon Bell? go ahead and compare that to what Matthew Stafford's trade value ii
don't explain to me the value of positons, i know all that. i've agreed with you that giants should've drafted a qb.
however.
saquon barkley is a once in a generation talent, so it cancels it out. if the giants find a qb, they'll pair him with the best rb in football and OBJ who's on a HOF career trajectory. i'm willing to roll the dice.
hey fat kat, could you give me an and1?
My bad if I came off as condescending talking about positional value but that's my main argument against the Barkley pick(that and the rookie QB contract being the best asset in the league). How much value do you place in Barkley? If the Giants had made the Jets-Colts trade is Barkley worth more than all those assets?
Btw I'm not sure this guy gets positional value
gettleman doesn't understand position value, but at the same time had one of the best drafts for the giants in years. barkley/hill/carter/hernandez look like studs.
how much value to i place on barkley? a lot, he's not like any other running back. he's hard to bring down, he can also stop on a dime and then explode. i'm still waiting until shurmur consistently uses him as a wide receiver because barkley vs a lb is a no contest every time down.
