I still say he should come back around the ASB, play ~20 mpg to shake the rust off

Probably this. The OP left out this option. You should make him/her go back and take that "How to set up a proper poll" class again.

Don't rush him back, but of course we want him to play with the Fizkids.

Play him the last 2 weeks of the season and that's it.

Whether we prefer it or not, he's going to play at some point AFTER Christmas. Probably before the trading deadline too.

He will be back ASAP. Can't really force him out if you don't want KP to hold grudge, and young ambitious dude will be thirsty for ball and MSG crowd. So whenever he is cleared he will play, only thing we can do is limit his minutes 20-25mpg for a game so he wouldn't screw up the tank

If things go as planned and he’s healthy and cleared by say Christmas, I bring him back on a strict minutes limit and keep him out of back to backs. But I’m going super conservative with his workload.

I could see his team (Janis) actually being the ones to put limitations on him.

He should sit out all season but if were looking to try and get butler/Irving i guess he should showcase himself?

agreed and Free Agents are going to want some reassurance that he will fully recover. Let them at least get a glimpse.

He needs to come back and play when he’s healthy. Whether or not we’re “on the same page” doesn’t mean sh*t

What I want is irrelevant. What history tells us is that the Knicks will play him and pay him no matter what. The only way KP doesn't play this season is if he says he doesn't want to. Otherwise the rocket surgeons running MSG will have him out there as soon as they can.

Those rocket surgeons have it tougher than brain surgeons, performing surgeries while on a rocket and all.

KP should not be held out once he is ready. He is still developing and can use the game play.

For a while I wanted him to sit the year so he could come back 110% healthy and would help the tank, but I've come to see the value in him playing towards the end of the season in a "showcase" type of deal.

Let the young kids play as many minutes as possible this year and improve. Have KP come back in the last couple weeks of the season and show that hes still got it and let potential FA see we are about to take that next step and that NYC is a destination again.

This. Everything you said is true, but having him on a minutes restriction won’t work for an extended period of time. If he feels completely healthy after a certain amount of games, he’s going to want the green light.
