KP HAS TO play for a minimum of a few months to:
a) Shake the rust off and get his game back
b) Show prospective free agents he's returned to old form and that the KNICKS and KP are worth taking a chance on.
Playing him only a few games or a few weeks will only make him look rusty to FA's and will defeat the purpose.

The best coarse of action is to sit him the entire season , and then let him play the final 7-10 games with some minute restrictions.
If we are in position for the playoffs, then those 7-10 games should be enough to get him into shape to be ready to play.
He can participate in team practices during the season, but he’s not playing before or even just after the all star break. He sits for a minimum of 70-72 games this season. That would be the smart thing to do.

I went with 7-9 but the number to me is more like 15
I want him to show free agents that he’s back to superstar form
That way when we draft at 5 and have Max cap space we can maximize both without mystery surrounding kps status

Why don't we just wait until the doctors say he is ready to play. Whether that is Xmas or after the all star break or next season

If playoffs aren’t a focus and if he’s getting advice to come back for the final 20 games I think he will take it

He doesn't need to prove anything. He can sit out the whole year, and all 30 teams would offer him a full max contract.
