Soon we will know whether the Fizkids are going to win 73 games next season, or if the rebuild is doomed.

This statement is a bit redundant, no?

mitch will dominate but pick up a lot of fouls. knox will look up and down. frank's game will start to look a little like andre miller if he never discovered twinkies. i don't care about the rest of these fools.

I don't particularly like Jeff but I don't blame him for anything, in fact I think he accomplished everything expected of him. When the season broke out, we were playing great considering just dumping Anthony. FO seemed to wanna keep that going and Jeff had us playing as well as we could given our talent. KP goes down and FO changes thier tune to a full blown tank and Jeff did not disappoint. I think we won like 3 more games, vets say, Frsnk played. So really, what do we want from this guy?
My thing with Jeff and I can't quantify it is he just seemed like an order taker. Like I can't imagine him being a polarizing coach or building his own culture anywhere. A yes man.

jeff sold out when he took the job. he didn't want nothing to do with the damn triangle. but you're right, phil saw someone he could mold. that's why he hired him.

Jeff's offense without Phil wasn't anything special. He loved the midrange 2's.

jeff also liked unnecessary player/ball movement that just ran down the shot clock and got us no where. How many times did our guards dribble to ball up just to pass it around to a few other players so the guard could get it back with like 10 second on the shot clock and have to force a bad shot.
I thought his offense which he got from his jerry sloan days was very stale...

This (what Frank just said) is almost verbatim a post that Ill or I would have written last season

I wouldn't just blame Jeff for that though. His coaches in Europe had him play like that and he had a lot to pick up and adjust to as a foreign born player coming to the NBA. Plus, he's more of a cerebral guy.
Jeff certainly didn't push the "just play" angle with him though. That's for sure. His coaching was very rigid.

It's for sure the newer age NBA style of go out there and play your game and don't hold back to develop young players that Fiz is promoting which seems like it will be refreshing.
I also thought Frank was on a short leash last year. No doubt he was going to have rookie growing pains. But we saw flashes early then through a major part of the season Jeff had Frank looking over his shoulder and second guessing himself in terms of making turnovers because he didn't want to screw up and come out.
Frank already is a very heady player making him overthink he decisions was just the wrong coaching. We saw some nice flashes and I hope under Fiz and this "let them play" style we will see a nice uptick in production with his growing confidence.

Yup.
There were a few games early on (Indiana and LA come to mind) where Frank made a few instinct plays and just got buckets. You can see he had it in him. Then his mins started to go down and he got tighter and tighter on offense.
I'm really looking forward to a freer, confident, gold-tipped Frank. He had no trouble getting past a defender once he got them on his hip last season, just because of his size. I can't wait to see what he can do now with that extra bulk.

don't misunderstand me, jeff wasn't a good coach no matter what. but he was hired because he was malleable. phil said so himself.
