Knicks would have definitely have given Tim and a Baker. Knicks definitely could have let him opt out and open up some cap money. This summer its about trading for Anthony Davis and targeting Tobias Harris and Terry Rozier

Major power shift to the east

Knicks watching from outside again

When did the Knicks want him?
Before he got traded to the Sixers.
No, Perry and Mills said publicly that they aren't gonna trade young assets for players that are about to be free agents.
Right. Because the price was too high, like I originally said. They wanted something stupid like KP + Knox or Frank + Knox + 1st Rd pick.
If all we had to give up was Lance Thomas and Courtney Lee, I am sure they would have made the trade.

I dunno. I liked the Heat deal and the Rockets' MegaPix deals better.
You know the Rocks deal was basically 4 2nds though
imo the 2023 pick had a chance of being VERY good

Minnesota was going to lose him for nothing this summer. Solid deal and they didn't take back garbage contracts.
Philly could make moves.

I love that Butler is in PHI. Short of a meltdown, they’re throwing him a 5 year deal.
Odds are we flop big time and overpay big time - my guess is for Harris.
Can’t wait

An Embiid-Simmons-Butler frontcourt would look really good with a Reddick & THJ back court spacing the floor for them...
Just sayin

How many teams DON'T want Jimmy Butler? The Knicks and who else?

Re: OT: Jimmy Butler to (ruin) the 76ers per Shams
The Minnesota fans who chanted MVP for Jimmy Butler a couple of weeks ago must be feeling real smart right now...
Jimmy will probably resign with the Sixers. The pool of quality free agents is shrinking, with Jimmy now in Philly and Kyrie basically committing to Boston as long as they pay him. This notion that the Knicks should trade Tim Hardaway Jr. (a legit asset with the way he's been playing) to clear more capspace for this free agency pipe-dream is ludicrous. If we trade a 26 year old averaging 24 points on .559 TS% with a 20 PER that was actually drafted by this franchise and strike out on Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Knicks will look real dumb. Let's keep building around what we've got, and if any star player wants to join, great.
