He can be, if given the opportunity. Just feel someone will give him a big contract, and Knicks will lose him. Will he be RFA when his current contract is up?

Yes he’ll be restricted.

Right now he's great as a reliable 2way piece, not sure he's someone you can rely upon to make a main piece of an offense though. I see someone like him fitting right in on those bad boy Pistons team or pretty much any team that is already pretty set and has pretty defined roles. Don't ever see him being a big game to game scorer on a good to great team though.

He’s Danny Green. Courtney Lee. Arron Afflalo.

In that mold. Good defensive players that made you respect their offensive game cause they could get hot with the shooting. Gotta guard them.

They ain’t Iman or Frank. You can ignore those bums on offense. They ain’t about to do ****. Decent little defensive players though.

Can shoot, rebound and defend. Not very creative or a good passer though.

He is one of those who would play well with some stars like KP. Dotson gets open shots off of KP double team, or defender doesn't want to leave Dotson so spacing is better for KP and our creative PG (when we get one)

Berman has been trying so hard lately to push the "trade Dotson" agenda. It's like he thinks if he writes it enough, he'll will it into existence.

Not as a 2nd or 3rd option, but his defense, shot & rebounding fit very nicely as a complementary guy...like a young Lee.

...assuming we didn’t trade him for playing defense...

Dame is one of my favorite Knicks and should be starting over Timmy for his defense alone. I prefer a line up of:
Mud
Dame
Knox
Vonleh
Mitch

Let Thj be our 6th man

Nope. I've been told in two separate topics that the team sucks is why Fiz is coaching like he does.

Dotson is a member of that suck, so it logically follows the answer is no.

Also, I see disturbing instances of team play and good shot selection, so there is no way he'd ever be a starting guard under Fiz. Or in the rotation. Barring injuries, of course.

Put in Dot for defense but leave in Mudiay and Knox. Interesting.

He's only pushing what is being leaked to him by MSG.

Frank and Dotson on the block.

These aren't Mills/Perry guys.

Mudiay\Mario\Burke\THJr. Those are their guys.
Mitch too. Vonleh maybe.

Hope KP likes playing defense with them guarding the perimeter. Oh and Zo. Who really isn't good on defense either but I'll assume could (might) improve. Not a given.

As long as he doesn't have a TMZ video coming out then sure. He seems to be in the Danny Green territory.

Not without an elite creator next to him. Doesnt do enough outside of shooting and playing decent "effort" defense to play heavy minutes

I voted no because I don't think he's good enough. He could be a solid backup though.

It's possible Hardaway could get injured or maybe shut down late in the season

No he's a SF. Y'all steady hating on Timmy. He's a decent 2, let him live. We need a PG why not **** on our supposed PG rotation.

Dotson isn't our 2 because he's averaging 11/4/1 on 54 TS while Timmy is averaging 22/4/3 on 55 TS%. Someone needs to score other than KP even if they are off an on. Y'all act like being a one way player is ok as long as it's defense. Nah not really.
