Somebody’s got to go.

There’s an obvious log jam at the two guard. Because of the contract we signed Trier to, we're most at risk of losing him this offseason.

Lee is back and him and Tammy are going to eat most of the minutes at the 2/3.

I like Dotson for our team more then ISO ZO.

I don’t see how we couldn’t get a pick in the 15-21 range at this point for ZO.

Questions are
who should go?
Who has more value?
Are politics going to factor into Dot being traded not Zo if one is traded at all?

Trade Burke to Orlando (they need a PG) for a future 2nd round pick.

I’d trade Burke for a Nathan’s frank with spicy mustard and sauerkraut. Problem I see is we still have 4 two guards on this tean and Dot is the only young two way two guard we have.

I know you like Zo but I think If we don’t trade him somebody’s going to offer him more money then we can pay in the off-season.

I think right now we are in "sell vets" mode. I expect Muddy, Mario, Lee to all be traded ASAP. Depending on assets offered, I could also see Frank being moved for the right price.

How about we trade Hardaway and keep ISO-Zo (I love the way Clyde says his name  ) Trier will cost less and I think his ceiling is higher. He's a more efficient scorer compared to Tammy.

I would love that I just don’t know if the rest of the league sees him as having positive value because I know on this board we don’t LOL

I hope you’re right but unless we can get expirings for Lee and the others even a few 2nd rd picks It’s not even worth trading them

Unfortunately I'm thinking it's going to end up being Lee. I don't think hardaway generates that much interest. I think Lee had been a good soldier and has sat out to help Fiz figure out what he has, while being a good locker room influence. I don't think it's a coincidence that he's been out now for the longest stint in his career.

I think Lee had already established what he can do defensively and offensively. He's on a decent contract, and can provide whats needed at the 2. Unfortunately his timeline doesn't coincide with the direction the team is ultimately taking.

You'd obviously look to get rid of Burke before even considering trading Zo. I'm unclear on what the Knicks options are exactly with Trier.

I think they do. Based on what I see and hear elsewhere.

I'll take a shot at this.

This was always an issue, right out of camp. CLee did the team a favor by agreeing to be "neck hurt" so they could sort it out and it not be even worse.

In no particular order:
PG: Burke/Frank/Mudiay/Baker? (who cares)
SG: THJr/Zo/Dotson/CLee (doesn't matter)

So, reality of the rotation:
PG: Burke/Frank/Mudiay
SG: THJr/Zo/Dotson

THJr is under contract, is making 17 million a year, probably isn't that easy to trade and in spite of the fact I love to beat him up, is decent

Zo provides what Burke does with greater efficiency and more height
Zo is maybe a better PG than Burke and certainly no worse

Dotson has played well in like 90% of games he gets a chance to play in
Dotson can play some SF

Mudiay has played well at PG, BUT is not under contract next year
Frank hasn't played well at PG but has played good defense and IS under contract next year

Easy short term answers:

Cut Baker when it's time to sign Zo
Trade Burke for whatever as he's not terrible, he's just redundant
See if Fiz can solve Frank or Frank can solve Frank but it's not an emergency as it's a tank year, Mudiay is here and Zo can handle some PG
Continue playing Tammy
Play Dotson at back up SF

Ultimately, if anyone is a fan of Wario, either this pushes him to the bench or Dotson - still kind of an extra player. OR Frank gets extended DNP's as Zo picks up anyback PG minutes, even AFTER Burke is traded. And this would STILL be dependent on CLee not playing

Easy moves are cut Baker, trade Burke, but Knicks might still need to move two players - or, it's like other clubs, they battle it out and some players just have to sit and a player someone likes is going to sit. And trade CLee, if possible (might be easier said than done)

TLDR - cut Baker, trade Burke

I feel like this was established really early in the season. A bunch of guys gotta go, and things haven't changed, except maybe trade values. I actually feel like Fiz has done a good job in helping most of guys rebuild confidence and their games (except Frank and Mario lol), but Mudiay, THJ, Vonleh, Dotson have actually gotten a chance to show off some stuff. I think this trade deadline will let us see how good this FO actually is...I'll be very disappointed if nothing happens or we lose assets for nothing while ruining the tank

Burke and Lee for Gasol and ____

Gasol only has 6mil guaranteed got next year
Spurs could use a PG and Lee fits their team perfectly. Takes the Danny Green role
