I really want to see Smith with Knox, Robison and Dotson. I think he’s going to be fun to watch in a pick and roll situation with Robinson. I would also like to see with his penetration skills set up Knox and Dotson. It would be encouraging to see if they can develop some real chemistry. I’m really wondering what they are going to do with Smith, Ntilikina and Mudiay. Someone is going to have to sit or maybe even dealt. Going to be interesting going forward.

If DJ not waived, would enjoy seeing:

DSJr
Frank
Dot
Knox
DJ/Mitch

For stretches of the game.

Word! I’m really looking forward to seeing this. Smith is probably our most explosive pg since Marbury. Like i know he’s raw and has to become more consistent in his game, however look at how much Trier, Mudiay, Dotson have improved so imagine a talent like SmithJR. People are truly sleeping on this trade. Do people not understand how hard it’s going to be for KP to come back. That’s why KP demanded a trade. He knew he wouldn’t be ready to handle the pressure in NY if he couldn’t perform right away. This was honestly the best thing for his career and the best thing for our team. I give Perry mad props for this move.

Yup, and if Frank was healthy, but Mudiay not, I'd pair Trier with Dotson at SG and put Vonleh at PF. If I wanted the team to be competitive, which I don't. :D
Notice how it's alway 3 decent defenders. And at least a guy who is willing if not good.

We're gonna get your defense fixed, kid.

We're gonna challenge you to play to defense like we challenged Tim Hardaway Jr. and Emmanuel Mudiay to rise up and reach their potential as elite defenders.

It just might be possible KP wanted out because he can't stand how FOS Fiz is. :D

Figured I'd get that line of baseless speculation going.

Hmm, an "Anti Financial Elite" video among his likes (the anti globalist kind) and a "Black lives matter isn't a race" video.

Maybe it's just as well that when the Knicks traded KP, it got rid of Janis, who appears to possibly be one those Euro-Fascist racists.

Interesting viewing choices for a guy who should know he's a semi public figure.

Doesn't really have anything to do with what I said

Compared to the average 9th pick historically, getting Rudy Gay would be really good

What you said wasn’t related to my point.

You’re looking at stats.

I’m looking to find a keeper.

Drafting a guy who puts up ok stats who we then jettison is not what I consider a good use of that pick.

Drafting a guy at 8th who is good enough to be a rotation player and not bust out is already a good pick. If that guy is deemed good enough to be included in a trade for a better player (with other parts I guess), that's also good.

Not a good use of the pick is the guy who can't achieve solid rotational minutes plus no other team wants him, but maybe he gets moved as a throw in.

But the concept.

Even with Durant, with DSJr on board, in the mold of a scoring point, Kyrie too?

I know he's better enough that if a team has real deep playoff aspirations, and the other FA options aren't there, sure
But at the expense of AD, when DSJr is already on the team? Not sure.

A new era.......with the same goal.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

I read where guys are saying NO to Kyrie because of his knees and were the same guys ready to break a salary record for KP a oft-injured guy coming off an ACL. One a 26 yr old all-star PG in his prime, who's won a title and KNOWS how to win and good distributor. And the other a 23 yr old who while great has never really won anything and for all his greatness- he doesn't make others better. Not saying KP didn't/doesn't deserve the max but to shade Kyrie is a bit silly

Just figuring there might be a way to upgrade at SG or SF (assuming Durant plays PF) if the team just rides with a guard rotation of DSJr/Frank/Trier/2019#1, with Dotson seeing minutes at SG and SF off the bench.

Unrealistic dream scenario (but feels more realistic of a big 3 with AD)
DSJr\Frank\Trier\2019#1

Kawhi\Knox
KD\Vonleh
Mitch\DJ

He’s about to get his dad a Jersey with his (Kyrie’s) name on it.
