Despite his [EDIT: no race baiting!] athletic is the least of his problems. He's agile, has a great vertical and a decent 7-2.5 wingspan and a 9-0 standing reach for a 6' 10" guy. He even showed a decent grab and go game in Summer League. His issue is he couldn't hit water with a **** oar in Detroit. He shot 28% and 33% on mostly uncontested spot up 3's. Which is real bad for a stretch 4. If he was a defensive monster it might make up for it, but he's shown Amare like awareness.

Ha! Wanted the Knicks to give him a shot as soon as he got released. I get the feeling the Pistons in their delusions of being a competitive team just never gave him playing time. Most 1st round picks at least get a *chance* to contribute.

Pretty skilled for a stretch 4. Better off the dribble than Kornet. His 3PT range is fluid and may just need real reps to be efficient. Maybe he does nothing here, but I just love Perry being active with bringing all these guys in.

Edit: in 31 career g league games he put up ~19 ppg, 9 rpg and 1 bpg on ~42/34/82 shooting (5.9 3PA per game)

Could be another low key good signing by the Knicks. He is the kind of big Fiz wants in his system. Someone who can grab the defensive rebound and push the ball. If his shooting has improved to the point where he can consistently knock down the 3 he could be a nice inside/outside player. Not a good defender though at all. He would work best stretching the floor with Mitch and having that rim protector to back him up. Probably the most accurate comparison Jalen Rose has made during the drafts when he compared Ellenson to Troy Murphy. Not going to be a star but could be a good bench piece.
