Helwani said there were still obstacles and there's nothing official but I've seen some heads go as far as saying the last thing they're waiting for is Masvidal passing his COVID test before they make it official.

I'm not sure who the short notice benefits more. Masvidal needs to be in top shape to keep up with Usman. But Usman will have spent his camp prepping for a Power Striker and BJJ specialist as opposed to a technical, high IQ striker with a wider diversity of attacks. I just hope it gets made.

Fam...I was saying Aljimain should get the next title shot BEFORE he choked out Sandhagen in a minute flat. If he takes Frankie on short notice and continues the non-title shot run it's just insanity.

Is Usman-Masvidal being fought in LV or Abu Dubai?

Gotta be in Abu Dhabi; I think the whole reason they spent big for this event is because it's the Fight Island kick off.

Usman building in excuses in his ESPN interview stating he was eating like a monster once fight got called off on Friday, i see making weight being problematic for both of these guys, 20 pounds is a lot when you dont have access to a full team and equipment
Charlotte Hornets 2024-25

Morant/Alvarado
Edwards/Huerter/Robinson
Durant/Bogdanovic/Royce
Draymond/Highsmith
Gafford/Collins

On the block: Huerter 36/2 years, Rubio- $6/3 years, Mills- $3/3 years, Duncan Robinson- $16/1 year, Okeke- $1/3 years

Is next weeks card a PPV? If not, then that's why.

Also, are you sure that these guys are 20 lbs overweight? That doesn't sound right to me. Usman has been training his butt off for Burns and I don't think Jorge would take the fight on short notice if he didn't think he was ready.

apparently 20 pounds isnt much to cut for a welterweight.

Jorge is a G for stepping in on short notice. Gilbert vs Usman would have been a barn burner but this is the fight everyone wants to see! I'm pumped.

Man, if Jorge is fight-ready, I'm going with him. I'm a big fan of his. It's wild to consider all of the adjustments and other considerations that now go into this match. After talking about all of Masvidal's skills, The Weasel chose Usman. But I'm going with Jorge. It'll really be interesting to see what styles each fighter will use and you know Jorge always comes up with something different in each fight. Poirier say Jorge has been real busy helping him train for Hooker.

What so you, HighRyzer?

I guess Gilbert gets the winner of this fight? Or does Conor suddenly come out of retirement and just jump over everyone to no. 1 contender?

Mike Perry has lost his damn mind. Assaulted 3 people including an old man in a restaurant/bar in Lubbock TX.

I didn’t know that he was a racist.

In the aftermath of the skirmish, Perry could be heard shouting several racial slurs.

Perry, who is white, has been known to use the N-word, but the UFC has never announced discipline for Perry's language.

Toss this outburst on top of the list of reasons why I can't rock with Mike Perry and think he's a hopeless case. He needs help, some type of guidance at least and I don't see that happening while the UFC pads his ego. Narcissism + no self-control = no wonder he thought his peak as an athlete came as a cardio muay thai instructor at a random UFC gym rather than when he was training with some of the best coaches and athletes in the world. Now he's out here hurting people too? I'm done with dude.

Jorge said he'd love the chance to repay Nate for giving him the shine. I don't think the UFC would do something that blatant though. Jorge also said he really wants to run it back with Wonderboy. Wonderboy kinda blanked Masvidal (although Masvidal's low kicks became a key part for Till beating Wonderboy). I'd love to see the division play out like this is Usman lost:

Burns vs Masvidal
Colby vs Wonderboy (next title shot to the winner)
Usman vs Edwards

My other conspiracy theory is that GSP will try to get in there if Masvidal wins. It'd be a huge payday for all parties involved and GSP was posting workout videos again
