Man, it is hard to overstate the difference between Wilpon life and this.

I think Carrasco will be really helpful for this team (particularly this year). But taking on his $ 2/24 guaranteed, 14mm vesting & team (vests at 170 ip in 2022) option or 3mm buyout so a total of 27 minimum guaranteed - that obviously helped lower the return. Rosario and Giminez are totally redundant with Lindor on board and and the prospects I'm not concerned about 9/10 in the org. We used the financial muscle to lower the outgoing talent bill -- and that's the way a New York team should operate.

Gotta love a sport in which money is no object, Mets just fleeced the Indians for Lindor. Arguably a top ten player in baseball, one of if not the best shortstop in the game and we just got him because the Indians weren't going to be able to pay him. On top of that we were able to steal Carrasco who will help lengthen the rotation. Great day for the Mets and start of the Cohen era.

wow.

Put in Springer + odorizzi/tanaka

and this team is legit. its already legit.

I'm not sad at all about seeing Rosario go. Yes hes young, but the guy is just a ground ball machine. You'd think in this era of flyballs and launch angles he could somehow figure out a way to get better contact, because he is a good contact hitter, but its literally been 3 straight seasons of him grounding out.

Gimenez's bat surprised me last year. I thought he had a nice level compact swing. Obviously he's never gonna be a power guy but I was definitely thinking he was a long term player for the team.

Rumor is the Cubs were trying to get F.Alvarez from us for K.Bryant who Sandy and Porter have been having talks about with the Cubs. They're saying those talks were in the days before yesterday and the blockbuster Lindor/Carrasco trade but i wonder if we keep talking with them since we still have a need for an upgrade at 3B and Bryant can play RF.
