Thor was amazing tonight. What a performance.

I guess we should be buyers and make a run at it. Maybe add a relief pitcher or two.

I don't consider the wild card game the playoffs lol. Only 54 games left in the season, 11 behind the division leader. This team is toast

We'd have a great chance in a wild card game to advance.

Supposedly Thor is off the table, but lot of teams showing interesting in Wheeler.

I wonder if Mets and Yankees finally strike a significant deal? Would have preferred to give them Vargas instead of the Phillies.

Gotta love Thor. Even with these trade rumors being tossed around, he still pitches like that. Unphased. That's why I want to keep him.

I don't see Wheeler getting resigned with that Cano and Familia contract. Gonna miss Wheeler :(

Mets stay pat. I can't say I am too upset. If Wheeler was going to be traded, it should have been last year when he was hot. So it makes sense not to let him go when his value is pretty low. I just hope he resigns, because that would be the only reason for this to make sense.

Same thing with Diaz. He is struggling. I'm not sure what you could have gotten for him. May as well hope he turns it around instead of rolling the dice on same mid prospect(s). Especially when you traded top prospects for him and he is on a dirt cheap deal right now.

The Thor rumors were just embarrassing.

I would have liked to see Vargas go to non-division team or we keep him as a spot starter/long-reliever. I hate to make a deal to save a little money.

And I would have liked to see Frazier traded.

All in all, this team wants to make the WC game at least. And you can't be mad at that. DeGrom, Thor, Wheeler, Stroman is a pretty good 1,2,3,4, especially if Thor continues like this and Wheeler turns things around.

Just need Cano to bounce back and Cespedes to return, and we will be on our way to the World Series again.

they didn't stay pat, the source said they were working on a trade with houston but houston was working on "another" trade at the same time and chose grienke last minute.

I'm okay with this. But don't we have one of the worst bullpen in MLB? Our division rivals shored up their bullpen with a flurry of relievers. We couldn't get one or two?

There's still the other deadline. That's how we got Addison Reed.

Well stop me if you heard this one before, on paper the Mets staff is truly elite. If some of our bats wake up, we can make up some ground on what seems to be every team in front of us. Brodie is all in for the playoffs, for better or worse that's the direction we're heading to. This offseason is going to be quite the interesting one.

There's no other deadline this year. Baseball did away with the second deadline from what I've read.

That's why GMs are a bit pissed off. They want the deadline to be pushed back to at least mid August.
