Diaz sucked the life out of the team, the fans, and the franchise.

2 out of 3 at home, not bad.

We shall see how they bounce back after a tough loss.

100%. Dumb move. Should have let him rot. He killed all the momentum

diaz wasn’t too blame, the ump calling strike 3 on ball 4 to davis did them in.

that was the game.

It’s tough. Familia gave us a good inning after being mostly terrible this season. It’s what you hope you’ll get with Diaz. But man, he totally killed us.

But you have to build these guys up some. You aren’t just managing for today’s game. If we get Edwin on track it changes the entire dimension of our bullpen.

That hurt tho.

I don't see Diaz ever bouncing back. He looks drained and uninterested.

Ok, so maybe this has all taken a toll on the young man. We should take some of the pressure off of him and have him a and Lugo switch places.

I'm a fickle one. My baseball fandom only arises when the Mets are good and then only September and beyond :-)

Fun while it lasted

McNeil is likely to be put on the IL. And Ruben Tejada is likely to get called up.

Is that the same Tejada? Didn't know he was still part of the organization.

The 2007 season cut my baseball ties in any meaningful way. After not following at all for a few years my wife and I got heavily invested in the team for the 2006 run. Disappointing but in bounds for following a team, and not unlike the 90s Knicks runs that came up just short. We were living up in the Hudson Valley and finally made it down to Shea for a series in 2007. Her first live baseball game ever and I went out of my way to play up just how good professional baseball players really are. Aaaaaaaand it just happened to be the series against the Phillies that basically lost them the pennant. It was the absolute worst professional game I've ever seen. Just a mess everywhere.

I just never really picked it back up after that season unless the Mets are crushing it. So, basically, 2015.

I feel you pain from 2006 and 07. Try living in Philadelphia. Oh the pain.

Welcome back Tejada. The guy best known for getting injured by Utley.

Mickey just replaced Matz, who was pitching a 2 hitter and had thrown just 79 pitches.

A fireable offense.

Matz had a shaky 2nd inning but he recovered well afterwards. This is one way you can lose your job MC. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

on top of that he let matz hit in the previous inning in a 1 run game. So he keeps him in to let him hit then takes him out. What a dope
