You don't worry about Knox lol Knox is likely to be traded at some point no matter what. If he can't ever play the 4, he's useless.

C: Mitch - 21
PF:
SF: RJ - 19
SG: Beal - 26
PG: DLO -23

I posted this earlier but if you build around these 4, the Knicks will have just enough for a 30% max FA next year or 2021. I did the calculations and posted them. It's legit.

That means that we could offer DSJ, Knox and a 1st for Beal and be good/young enough to attract FAs finally. Upcoming FA's include AD, Giannis, Towns, Turner, etc.

That looks terrible gannis ain’t coming possibly towns? Nah b we’d be a treadmill team

You're comparing them to guys 28 to 34 year old. They are elite for their age group. They will eventually become elite as the older guys fall off. Get ahead of the curve.

Who on that list is elite? Beal?

Ew to Russell. High volume, mostly inefficient, lack of defense guard that gets hot here and there. PASS!

If they sign Kyrie and Butler or Kyrie and Harris, then Russel is a FA?

I honestly would sign him to a max. I think his contract projects better than Kyries for the next 4 years and moving forward.

Like Beal, his max is only 25% of the cap. Much better than 30 or 35% for roster construction... which is why we'd have another max next year or 2021 to spend.

They don't have a choice if they sign Jimmy Butler or Harris. They'll have to renounce his cap hold.

I think they want Tobias. They've been talking about him since the Playoff series and it doesn't make sense to bring in Kyrie to play with DLo. Their styles don't mess well because DLo is too ball dominant. Also they got Dimwiddie on a good contract.

The Nets should be in Seattle. Bring back the Sonics.

DLo is 23 years old guys. You blend him with Mitch and RJ and you suddenly have a fun core, 35 million in cap space, and all your picks as well as 2 Dallas picks.

I would spend the rest of our money taking on contracts that come with first rounders. Add DLo to the core and acquire more first rounders.

I did that calc as well in the last thread. Can't be bothered to look it up, but I *think* they were about $1.3m short of being able to max both KD+KI (assuming they waive/don't take up everything possible, including DLo). Maybe Kyrie pays that? Idk. It's "his" boyhood team.

I don’t think wizards bite on that but DsJ Knox 1st for Beal would be great assuming you can snag Russell in free agency

Russel
Beal
Barrett
?
Mitch

Bout to build this lineup in 2k lol

We can’t let the cap go to waste.

Signing KD and hoping he returns to what he was while also pursuing Kawhi makes a lot more sense than just rolling back the money. Take the risk and live with it while also growing the youngins.

What exactly is the big deal?

Even if KD isn’t who he is...so what?

We’re still gonna have the young pups on the team, could still go after a player in 2020 if we choose to.

Signing only AD and no other FAs certainly doesn't affect the tank next season.

Russel
Beal
Barret
_____
Mitch

(Trading DSJr, Knox, Frank, 2020 Knicks and the protected Mavs pick). We can even eat a **** contract this year into cap space.. As long as it's expired by 2021.

We can eat other **** contracts too as long as they don't go beyond 2021.

That's a fun playoff team with young talent.

OR

Just continue to build through draft and use cap space for assets. F this AD BS.

You hope he is young enough to bring it together. A lot of the better PG's in the league didn't look as good as he does when they were his age. He'll never be elite but he's likely going to be an all star a few more times.
