Qualify the poll to state: "IF AD, Kawhi and Kyrie are not possible"

Like I said - Knicks are adamant they not giving max money to guys that don’t deserve it. They are okay with going the home grown route. The max offer is there for KD. They haven’t received assurances but they are confident. They are resigned to the fact that Kyrie is going to Brooklyn.
We are in good hands. Sucks we all got excited for this off season and it may not play out as we liked. But atleast we are not going to do anything stupid

Let’s assume all NBA GMs act rationally and choose to hedge their bets on Durant. Is there any reason why we shouldn’t offer an incentive heavy contract or even just a 2 year contract with a 3rd year team option? I’m still in the camp of wanting to gamble on the health of the best player in the NBA.

Search is horrible on this site. Disgusting that you can't quote locked posts as well. Anyway, I re-did the numbers - let me know if there are things wrong.Salaries are probably from Sportrac (idrrc)

@Drewkins:

Cap=109000000
Dinwiddie = 10605084
Harris = 7666667
Prince = 3481986
LeVert = 2625718
Allen = 2376840
Musa = 1911600
Kurucs = 1699236
Nets_dead = 5474787
35%-FA = 38250000
30%-FA = 32700000

Cap - (Dinwiddie + Harris+ Prince+LeVert+Allen+Musa+Kurucs+Nets_dead + 5*VRC) = 68672292
sign 1 30% max:

Cap - (Dinwiddie + Harris+ Prince+LeVert+Allen+Musa+Kurucs+Nets_dead +35%-FA + 4*VRC) = 31419450

Irving (or any other 30%-FA) - (Cap - (Dinwiddie + Harris+ Prince+LeVert+Allen+Musa+Kurucs+Nets_dead+ Durant + 4*VRC)) = 1280550

So they are $1,280,550 short to sign KD+KI under the cap.

I would actually sign Dlo to a max even if he was our only max signing. If we're not getting Kawhi or taking this shot with KD and gonna stick to the rebuild through the draft plan then it wouldn't hurt in any way to sign a 23 year old Dlo to a 4 year max contract and keep bringing in young guys with him and then we can see if he's what he was last year. If he is then we now have our all star PG. I have no problem with signing Dlo by himself or signing him and trading for B.Beal.

I'm down with Dlo.

Dlo would be settling. Almost everyone out there would be settling. Either get one or 2 first class all NBA dudes or stay the course. I'm not buying one injury reserve substitution all star spot as who this guy is. I see high volume, inefficient, and no defense. Whenever we get players like that, we want them gone with the quickness.

Dlo? Brogdon? Jesus Christ guys. Have some self respect. Next up is going to be throw an offer sheet at Porzingis
