Do it without giving up Mitch and 3 and I would go ape. AD still scary to be testing free agency though.

I think AD testing free agency if we traded for him varies.
- Depends on how Lebron looks with an AD-less Lakers.
- Depends if we sign KD (does AD believe KD can come back mostly to form, he’d be around KD the whole season to know).
- Depends if we sign Kawhi, think he opts out to only resign super max.
- Depends if we sign someone else not named KD+Kawhi. Is that enough?

Talk about overrated. A.Trier is way overrated by Knicks fans.

Nope. He's good.

Good at scoring but overrated by some.

He's sorta both. He's very good at what his role is and certainly for his price tag.

He's probably being overrated by those who expect him to become much more than that.

He could be making 2X what he is now and still be solid value. He can play. He's a solid 6th man candidate, or at least a rotational bench scorer on most any team in the league, minutes to vary on the overall quality of their bench. But he cracks nearly every rotation.

And even though he's a 35 year old rookie, he's still a rookie, so there's room for some growth, though obviously as a 3 year college guy who reclassed etc about 12 times, the ceiling is lower, as, obviously, is his floor, which we already just saw.

So we agree

Some Klay Thomas news coming out.
Said KD called Klay after the game (expected). Said Klay asked at some point at the arena “Do you think this affects my free agency?”
Interesting because if he was staying in GS, he should have enough confidence to know he’s getting max regardless. Makes it sound like he’s going to entertain offers.

I gotta say, he was admirable the way he tried to keep playing with a torn ACL.

I think Trier is very good if you evaluate him fairly. Evaluate him as a role player scorer not as a starting nba guard. He is very efficient. I also think his passing can improve.

He's still a guy you keep at such a low cap figure with the potential to make him a RFA. I don't believe this takes them out of 2 max slots, and they can always free up that room.

You can’t get AD without including 3 lol

I'd actually rather keep that #3 and Barrett. I've really come around on this kid and think he could be a great player for us. I love any kid who wants to be a New York Knick and isn't afraid of everything that comes with it.

Woah. Big news if he is willing to leave GS.

Klay, Durant and Barrett as a trio in 2020-21 would be a pretty strong combo.

Just spoke with Klay Thompson's father, Mychal, who said there's "no question" Klay will re-sign with the Warriors. Golden State is expected to still offer him a full five-year maximum deal.

The boys had my back.

20th June. Stupid date - could they not have looked at the league calendar for next year and realized 21st June would give them more flexibility?

Also: yes $134,590 short for Durant, a 30% max and Dotson.

Very interesting move. I think it decreases the probability of a trade for AD significantly. It increases the probability (not sure how much, but some) that the FO know what Durant is going to do - and that probably means knowing he's coming to NY. (Just to be clear - I'm saying it increases the probability they know he's coming, not that they know he's coming.) Either increases the probability of { Frank being traded or Durant + the kids (and no 30%-FA)}.

TRust me if I could keep anyone it’s pick 3. I’m a massive Barrett fan. Think he will be a star. I’d give Mitch up before Barrett easily. But I don’t think you can make any deal for Davis without #3

Maybe I should back-track a little. If the Pelicans actively want Trier then the prob of an AD trade just went up. If the Knicks are only looking for one FA and will trade for ADD into cap space it makes no difference. If NOP don't really care about Trier either way and the Knicks are looking for 2 FAs and to trade for AD putting themselves over the cap then the prob went down (because the money issues become more complicated).

Salary cap would have to go up by just under $0.5m (to $109.5m) to squeeze in Durant, 30% + Dotson (and no trades). (~$483,847) That seems unlikely based on past precedent - although it can't be ruled out, one certainly wouldn't rely on it/expect it. Remember the date on which Dotson's $1.6m salary becomes guaranteed is 16th July (he can be waived with no salary payable or cap hit on or before 15th July).

Everyone ready for the Knicks big free agent signing..well here it is:
The Knicks currently plan to waive Thomas ahead of the guarantee date, per SNY sources.

But the club has interest in bringing the veteran back as a free agent, sources say. Thomas' leadership and professionalism is held in high regard in the organization and he is respected for his mentorship to younger players.
