I see him in an almost Giannis type offensive role. Surround him with shooters that play defense.
If you can't shoot and play D, you're expendable.
Compile as many draft picks as possible, and draft and sign players that fit this profile. As long as we don't overpay anyone, the future is bright.
That said, the only free agents I would give a max to are Kawhi, KD and Klay, otherwise just keep building around our 2 studs.
The only thing keeping me from this is signing Kawhi. If we can get Kawhi then i have zero problem with going the free agency route this offseason and bringing a J.Butler, Kemba or a few other names with him. Now i'm realistic enough to understand and have understood that the percentage of us getting him is lower then the 14% chance we had to get Zion but until he's signed with LA or whoever i'm gonna keep that dream alive.
If we don't get Kawhi then i am absolutely fine with staying the rebuild route and if these guys can make the right draft picks and signings, especially the draft picks, then in 2-3 years we can have a really good young team full of good/great players and have a ton of money to again look the way of free agency with the big names.
What we would also obviously need is for the young guys we have now to keep getting better and that's obviously K.Knox, Mitch, DSJ, Frank, Dotson and Trier and whoever else i left out. Mitch just needs to work on his offensive game because i have no worries about his defense and this really goes out to Knox more than anyone else. We need you to get better Knox. We need effort on defense and to work on other parts of your offense other then just your shooting.
