I know we liked him when he got drafted.
Great energy guy but last I saw him play....he still hasn’t actually learned HOW to play, particularly on offense.
But he’s young and won’t cost a ton. I wouldn’t have an issue with bringing him into our development program.

Then on the bend back to normal you release and follow through. The legs give you the arc and distance. He looks like he’s pushing it through with the goose neck.

he also has trouble squaring up on the pull up, which causes a lot of lunging forward/pushing the ball.

There is definitely still a hitch. Also issues with elevation timing and drift.

He doesn't land where he launched from.

I wonder if you do sign a free agent point is there a young forward you can trade DSJ for?

That Dennis Smith jumper is ugly as ever.

Absolutely loved that trade idea in the previous thread: Dennis Smith to Charlotte for Biyombo (eat contract) and first round pick. Something along those lines.

F'n'in' seriously.

Back to the Laker trade, was this a good move by them? Not sure why any team would want to help them get another max slot. I'm kind of annoyed the Lakers keep pulling moves out their ass.

Only thing I can tell by watching video is release point, smoothness, and quickness. It looks smooth enough to me, but also slow. I don't think it's a hitch, he seems to be releasing it just after hitting the apex of his jump, which is a problem. Also seems like he's not swaying his legs, but moving his whole body forward

Should be easy enough tweaks, I don't think his form is broken or anything

to imagine there was a time where the board was fighting over dennis vs frank. or as i like to call that event, the "aint sh*t" championship.

I still believe in DSJR potential and being the starting point guard but what worries me most is his work ethic. I really need him to go after it this offseason. None of that bs he was on in Dallas. He has to have the desire to improve. We will see this season what type of player we wants to be.

Is that summer? Denny's jumper is still hitched.

If he smooths it out where the momentum of the jump creates the force of the shot it can flow in his jumper, in that video he jumps first then shoots as if it's two parts. He's shooting from his arms very late in the jump, if he coordinates his hips, shoulders and arms to generate the attempt using the force of the jump it should improve but I'm not his coach so.......and all the great advice from everybody in here about his shot is dust in the wind.

Watch the video with your eyes a little crossed so it's blurred, it's really easy to see the hitch that way.
