they gave up 6 points in the second half when they went more zone and had connelly relaying defensive plays.

it has the potential to improve, lots of young players going through hiccups. ballentine isn't even used yet for some reason.

golden, carter, and ximenes look real solid, and lawrence should be a force like he was yesterday.

Nothing against Jones. In fact, I think he's good. It's just I got to see Todd Bowels run a Jets offense for 3 years and the guy is terrible. Master of the "non adjust at halftime".

It was more a commentary of how bad a coach Bowels is. I thought Jones was good before this game.

Cant overlook this. Dude is a stud. Needs to up his awareness even though hes comfortable in the pocket. He's almost too cool in the pocket.

to be fair, he was under pressure a lot in college IIRC. he put the footwork on display.

Barkley had that same injury in college and was out for two weeks.

I think he will be back in 4 or 5 weeks.

baker mayfield broke the unwritten laws of being a sports athlete

- he questioned a players commitment to the team during contract negotiations, prompting his veteran teammates telling him to stay out of a mans contract business.
- he trashed another qb, there's a brotherhood with players of the same position ... you should always support them.

so he's a marked man now, he'll have some of these just recently played in the nfl analysts trash him and say things like jones is better than him.

Maybe but this defense is still ass and under almost any circumstances we should be 0-3 even with DJ killing it his first game. Don’t see anyway we win more than 4-5 games with this defense.

I think the biggest compliment to Jones during his first start was at no point did it look like a rookie under his first nfl start out there.

I think that was the most impressive. Under control, leadership, confidence all shined through in his first start

That and the accuracy. If you showed me the pocket stats alone after the game, I would have assumed that DJ was spraying it all over the place.
