The demo is out. I played around with it a little last night. Archetype customization is nice, but I'm not sure I'm feeling a major difference here.

I don't really do online, so I don't care about all the anti-cheesing stuff, but the defense does feel a little improved.

Anyone else get a chance to try it out?

I was experimenting with a Jokic type build last night. In usually an athletic big with a shooting touch... Not sure I like not being an athletic big but I'll give it a few more runs before I decide

The new archetype builder is great. Let's you really create a player the way you want. Best build I made so far is a 6'9 Paint Beast being compared to Dennis Rodman, Zion and Jaren Jackson Jr.

The gameplay is def different

Mike Wang and the developers of NBA2K20 are brilliant. They nerfed all archetypes over 6'5, repackaged the archetype system into pie charts, and still managed to convince everyone they'll be able to have unprecedented control over developing their players.

Game feels slower but I’m heated that their face scan still sucks ass. Smh

Which camera are you using on your phone?

I used my back camera on the phone and the scan was like 3x better than my front cam

Everyone feels like they move slower, that's not a good or bad thing but it does change gameplay a bit. The other thing is I've tested out the myplayer at different variables and it seems like they're really gonna nerf your player so you're tempted to buy VC and myplayer points. That was true last year but seems even moreso this year. I run online with some friends at times and having a myplayer that's low rated will probably make that impossible unless I grind like a psychopath. I'm up in the air about bothering to buy it this year but probably will.

The demo was trash. Almost wanted to cancel my pre-order but I guess I'll burn another $60 for a roster update in what will surely be another DLC infested nightmare

The nerfing was def necessary tho imo. It was getting out of hand last few years. Last year you had pure rim protectors, glass cleaners and pure post scorers knocking down 3s effortlessly

Yup. I only really buy the game for GM/MyLeague.

Yep, the only thing I use only is player updating

Right now the pie charts are just the archetype system in disguise, but they are going to add more to the final game and also have custom ones ...

The new badge system is nice you don’t have to grind each badge (like 10,000 corner 3’s in the corner to get HOF corner specialist) you just fill up the shooting bar and unlock it, also you get to pick what badges you want so if you make a play/sharp you can pick on HoF shooting badges and still get speed boost

they also put all rebounding stats in the defensive section, so all lockdowns can be glass cleaners

Did they change MyGM mode at all?

There was a glitch where you can never make a 3 team trade in it.

cam you play 5 vs 5 in this demo or is it just my player?
