Are those dividends paid out in cash or do they automatically get reinvested?

Is your pre tax IRA through your employer? I thought IRA contributions are mostly/all post tax?

Reinvested in this 403b.

On of my biggest regrets is not doing this, even on a small scale, when I was in my 20’s. IE a company I used to work for, Broadridge, was $24 when they spun off. Nope, I needed to party. :noway: :nonono: :banghead:

Is stocks worth it if you’re broke and have under 100$ to your name?

It's so valuable and you'll be so happy that you did. I did not when I was younger due to being young and dumb and it's my greatest regret. I got my act together now, but the gains that I missed out on hurt each time I think about it.

Younger folks...Please read this and let it sink in. Start NOW. I partied my 20s away and while I have some great memories, I damn sure would rather be closer to retirement looking back at it. It is such a huge advantage to start saving and investing early. Pay yourself first, then work with whatever is left over for the fun stuff.

No. Build an emergency fund first in a high yield savings account (I use Ally).

I have 3 months of expenses in mine. Some people like to have more than 3 months worth of expenses but my job is very marketable and I probably wouldn't be out of work long if I got laid off/fired.

Would also recommend you sit down and make a budget if funds are that tight. Good luck, there's a lot of smart people in here if you have more questions.

Lot of reading but just go to the HSA and high deductible health plan section. They lay out the requirements there.

I bought DXCM when I first started, so I was being cheap. I wish I bought more because they went up like 40%+ a month or two later.

getting in Apple at $102 and later at $95 at it's low 3+ years ago (even if only a tiny investment) was one of my greatest investment heists.

Other one was buying $200 worth of Altria Stock in college 10 years ago back at around $16/share

AMD was a great pickup too. I really wish I got in the game sooner.

When it was under $5 a share, that looked like a no-brainer.

How do you guys get over FOMO?

Right when I started, I was thinking about buying Tesla (was about 250). But read a lot of stuff about it not being profitable yet. So I bought safer picks. Of course now, I feel like **** now, because it's over 500 lol.

Easy - just read about WeWork for 3 minutes.

https://www.businessinsider.sg/weworks-nightmare-ipo/?r=US&IR=T

Tesla will correct at some point. Either way, it's a crap shoot.

It's best you do deep dive into stocks if you're going single stock portfolio.

As for TSLA, it's heavily driven by retail aka "dumb" $ and the most crowded trade is short TSLA debt/long stock.

The actual biz #s don't warrant a 2x or a rise at all but press sells. Eventually, the game ends and most are left without a seat because unless TSLA can actually show profit at full manufacturing capacity and growing car sales. Otherwise it's smoke & mirrors

I never FOMO or PANIC

If you have a long term strategy then these are the last things you should have on your mind

Never revenge trade, there is always opportunity to make money 24/7 in the market

Just because you miss out on something doesn't mean you should hop on board when there is mania. Just get in on something else.

Also, be aware that everything in the world has corrections. If you are interested in a stock, wait for a correction. Keep an eye on it and check up on it every so often. It's a marathon not a race.

I recently got an interest bearing bitcoin account with blockfi with 6.2% rate. I have never traded crypto before, focusing mostly on forex and gold. I've been studied the markets for 6 years and actively trading and making money for 3. Here is my chart where I found entries. https://imgur.com/X9ORjCA

Adding interest on top of some nice moves makes this a very attractive vehicle for me. When I hit profit targets, I can move money from my bitcoin account to gemini coin (also interest bearing) which is pegged to the dollar.

This isn't a recommendation to trade or invest like me and I have no financial association with blockfi (or anything even remotely related).
