What about Frank? I saw no "timid" in his game today.

So everybody was down on Knox - but he looks stronger, and better. Also, RJ looks like he's playing larger/stronger than I expected. Mitch seemed to be just toying with everybody - easily blocked that shot. So now all we worry about is DSJ's back, can Julius play D, etc. etc. And, can Fiz coach. We really do need to see how the our preseason games go - all 4 of them. LOL

Some us us understood that Knox was extremely young and had a lot of room to grow. We were just drowned out by the boo birds.

the defense was very lackadaisical, but the guys (mainly trier, knox) were looking to make the smart pass/play.

watched first quarter, very impressed with knox and trier. if knox can be CaS, and only attack in transition (and learn how to defend), he's going to be very helpful and finally earn a place with the knicks long term.

trier looked really good. i was impressed. he looked to make the smart pass, shot only when he was open. what i also liked about trier is, when he put the ball on the floor, his head was up looking for others (even made a great pass to knox, who hit for 3).

frank making smart plays/passes. definitely worth keeping, so far. tried to **** dunk over someone. at people saying he didn't look aggressive. just hope he brings that during the regular season (then again, it was bobby p)

wish we could've seen RJ with better players, but it looked like

trier had good chemistry with a lot of guys, mainly knox.
randle looking to involve everyone/play intelligently, and had good chemistry with frank.
payton looked good, doing a little of everything.

knicks need to keep kenny. he gets the blocks that no one thinks should be gettable. he's a shorter version of mitch. just stagger the two guys

second quarter

frank making PG mistake 101 when bringing the ball up the court - dribbles straight to half court corner where there are 2 extra defenders (sideline and halfcourt line). straight up dumb. making great passes, though. not getting pushed around.

trier missing a few shots, but they're catch and shoot, which is good. keep shooting those until you become a known threat to open up the rest.

trier and frank actually had some good chemistry.

knox making smart passes. i like that mitch doesn't set a screen, then stands there (which has been the case for most big men in the past). easy buckets.

seems like frank, trier, knox, mitch all have good chemistry.
iggy looking aggressive - not sure if that's his thing, though.

i don't know who peters is, but pretty solid defender.

mitch complaining to refs during team scrimmage . don't have star status yet to do that.

haha, frank drawing charges in practice. thata boy

so far, i am much more impressed with the young guys than the older guys. it may only be scrimmage, but so far, the young guys are outplaying the old guys, easily.

don't like how morris was taking so many bad shots. but i do like when he gets down low and puts pressure on the young guys to actually rebound the ball - which didn't look good by the young guys.

haha, love the announcer, "mitch, please!" think that needs to be over the PA anytime he gets a block.

it's been about a decade (acquisition of amare) since i've actually been excited and looking forward to the knicks season. wins or losses, it's nice to finally see light at the end of this tunnel.

it may just be practice, but the young guys are finally giving us knicks fans some hope to be happy about our knicks. it's been way too long

thanks. i wasn't trying to be analytical, was really just trying to state what i see, mainly what i like and what i don't like.

i really just tried to state what i saw, without looking at it from any bias. to prove that point, i think it's quite well documented that, because of last season, i was very anti-knox and anti-trier. yet, because of their play (i'm aware it's just a scrimmage), i gave them a lot of praise, because they earned and deserved it.

they played great, and i hope they help continue to change my mind throughout the season. again, really just stating what i saw and noticed, without any analysis or bias.

Well in the beginning Frank didnt look aggressive. But then as the game went on he sortov realized his place and got there. But remember this is a practice where only Knicks got to play. In other words there were minutes for everybody. Even if you knew that by keeping him in bed eventually figure it out just know that he wont get that long to warm up. Gotta be ready to go from the start and very important, if your first couple opportunities dont work out you cant be doing that thing he always does where he stops shooting and just moves the ball around. Stay aggresive at all times. Cant make the coaches and fans love you on 3-4 attempts/game. Remember you gotta shoot 100% from 3 to score a 12 points on 4 shots and really.....who does that?

But I had fun watching that game.

Return to New York Knicks
