More minutes for Knox and Trier.

Celtics presumptive starters
Kemba walker
Jaylen Brown
Gordon Hayward
Jayson Tatum
Daniel Theis
vs.
Elfrid Payton
RJ Barrett
Marcus Morris
Julius Randle
Mitchell Robinson
We’ll face the same challenges as we did last night. We face a smaller, quicker team with a dynamic PG. Will we make them pay in the paint and on the boards? Will we spot them a lead that we have to claw back from?

Re: Game Thread: Bitchy Club at the Garden, at 7:30 p.m.
Line up ideas which won't happen but what the hell, it's early Saturday.
So, team wants RJ to be a playmaker. Haven't most scouts said, and doesn't it seem like, the better playmaking RJ is on the perimeter, where he can see over defenders? Can get into that P&R?
I think that's where playing Ellington a lot, and wanting Trier in there come in. Ellington is the guy flying around fast around pindowns and picks for RJ to find. Trier is giving him another shooter, plus a player who is a little more adept and creative going downhill into the offense.
Start Ellington to spread the offense, but sub Trier in a little faster than normal. I think Trier's head gets spooked by starting, tries to do too much.
Moar shooting in the frontcourt. Of course, I think the Knicks should go Knox, Morris and then Mitch, for his defense. 3 shooters, RJ and a rim protector. Not going to happen. Randle is the conundrum. Knicks won't not start him.
Just go smaller and start Randle at C. Yeah, I know. Sh*te defense and rebounding. Just have a quicker hook on Morris and bring Mitch in, like sub in Trier and Mitch for E-thong and Morris, switch Randle over to the 4.
Give Payton around 25 minutes at PG, where RJ sees some minutes at 2/3 (6 mins each spot)
RJ/Payton
E-thong/Trier/RJ
Knox/Morris/RJ
Morris/Randle (Portis)
Randle/Mitch (Portis)
That's 8 players. I guess find 15 minutes for Portis or Gibson, depending on matchup. That's 9. Don't play anyone else a single minute.

The Knicks, who've focused at least on being taller, if not more athletic, have still been managed to be owned on the boards all preseason and into two games so far this year.
I'd say go smaller and try to match up. Rebounding sucks either way, might as well be quicker.

Randle and Morris have size advantages in their matchups. Hopefully they don’t resort to hero ball though.

I want to see Bobby punch someone in the face this game. I’m not concerned about him being suspended. With Kanter sitting out, it should be Tatum. Or walk over to the bench and punch Kanter. It would free up playing time.

Yeah Randle played way smarter versus the Spurs. Not sure why he reverted back to his old self last night but I have hope he can turn it around.
I don’t have much faith in Morris though. He is who he is at this point in his career. His game looks pretty when his shots are falling but when it’s not... hard to watch lol

Tatum my guy let him live he’s a good kid lol. I’d punch Marcus Smart though if he tries to flop or do some dirty schit

Morris and Frank to the Blazers for Bazemore’s expiring contract and Portland’s first round pick.

I’d like to see Frank get another look this game, preferably guarding Kemba. Play him with Trier or Ellington.

I reeeeally hope for Frank again, but without him I would go:
Payton 28 / Barrett 20
Barrett 15 / Trier 28 / Ellington 5
Morris 10 / Knox 30 / Ellington 8
Randle 28 / Morris 20
Mitch 25 / Gibson 20 / Randle 3
No Portis + Smith. Thanks...
Payton 28 / Barrett 20
Barrett 15 / Trier 28 / Ellington 5
Morris 10 / Knox 30 / Ellington 8
Randle 28 / Morris 20
Mitch 25 / Gibson 20 / Randle 3
No Portis + Smith. Thanks...

In a mismatch, ISO/hero ball is great and effective. Actually basketball 101 - it's what teams have been doing to the Knicks for years with how often they switch on defense.
Those two were just so dumb about it, they went to instant ISO (worst decision in basketball on offense) as soon as they got the ball. They showed very lowIQ last night

If Fiz plays DSJ over Frank he should be fired
That whole “you gotta earn ur mins” would be completely nonsense if that happens
Fiba Frank broke out against the Team USA Celtics. So it would make so much sense.

This ain’t FIBA bruh. And if we’re being fair, Frank has done nothing to earn any minutes. So has DSJ. It’s why Trier is playing over them like he should.

I agree Frank has not done **** but hes atleast had moments unlike DSJ. Frank got a DNP for a couple turnovers. When he actually made good plays before that. Our teammates just couldn’t execute. So DSJ deserves a DNP after his ATROCIOUS preseason and reg season games or im gonna question Fiz.
