I'm not buying the playoff talk. Just Begley/SNY nonsense. There can be no sensible way this FO expects to make a playoff push right now. There is no sensible reason to keep ANY of the players they signed this summer. Maybe Bullock because he's cheap and plays defense.

TWO WEEKS!!! CUT BAIT AND PLAY THE KIDS!!!

The article is about last summer. The pep talk was in the summer when they were signing them. Not today. Read the article before calling it nonsense.

Yeah bruh...cool story. Obviously because it was from the summer and they're bringing it up now...I'm calling nonsense. Maybe you should read what I posted before telling me to read something. The board reacted as though it's even worth discussing.

It is worth discussing in detail. More evidence how incompetent the current FO is. Most important aspect of a good FO is self assessment. You gotta know how good your players are when you are choosing your direction. Our FO thought these clowns will become a winning team. That is the nonsense here that needs to be talked about. Our FO is chasing unicorns and rainbows. Then again, we do have a delusional fan base. My favorite summer threads are the ones titled something like “We have the deepest team in the league”. There were idiots here upset with BSPN talking heads calling out the team for signing zillion of PFs. Guess who was right.

With all the negativity surrounding this franchise and it's management, we can still salvage the situation if they dump some of the vets for assets at this deadline. The team is still in a great position in terms of draft picks, cap, and youth where a turnaround can be achieved with the right person at the helm.

And yet.... I have hope...

True, but whats the incentive for current management to do this if it doesn't equate to additional wins in the short term?

You have high expectations. This is the FO that traded for Mudiay followed by DSJr in the last two trade deadlines. They have no idea what they are doing. Best case scenario, they are fired today and can’t do any more damage.

Richard4444 wrote:Reading the latest rumors, I hope for this scenario:
1) Drafting Edwards
2) Trading Frank + Mitch for a lottery pick and draft the 4th or 5th PG in the draft The consensus PG big board order appears to change each month (Ball/Halliburton/Mannon/Hayes/Anthony).
3) Sign Drummond for a near Max deal
4) Try to bring back Dotson for a less than 5m/y deal.

We could have a
Rookie PG/Payton
Edwards/Bullock
Barret/Dotson
Randle/Knox
Drummond/Wooten

Drummond would be getting a full max deal...doesn't mean he deserves it, but that's what he'd get. But the big flaw in your "scenario"....Mitch and Frank equal a lotto pick? Yeah, they are young....but they're not rookies. Teams value lotto picks because the potential is greater, even though unknown, than two guys like Frank and Mitch. I'm sure they can develop into decent rotational players in the future, but they don't put up even decent numbers on a bad team. If they were both rookies, maybe you could make that sell...but they are not. I'm also not sure on Dotson....it's a really weak FA class this year, but some teams will need to spend some money. IMO, he's def a 5 million a year kind of guy, but the NBA is full of stupidity....it's possible he could land an Ellington type of deal. He shouldn't, but it's not out of the realm of possible.

A league source previously confirmed to NBC Sports Chicago that the Clippers’ interest in Young is legitimate, which was first reported by the Los Angeles Times. A Clippers scout attended a recent Bulls game despite the fact the teams don’t meet again until April.

We should have signed him long term last summer. Holmes too. I recommended it. Nobody listened.

You might be getting him on the breakout.

Yeah you were on him before everyone. Props to you. When u traded him to me I was not expecting him to play this well right now. I’ll take it tho. Lol

Dorian finney Smith is another one I wanted the Knicks to target. He is super underrated. Like criminally underrated.

Ours was a great value for value trade. Goddamn it Melo, the Knicks could have built so much better for so much less :noway:

That's why we build our own damn franchises...

Pooch is a big fan as well (and I think Mags was) but Pooch and Mags had no cash. Hence $5...
