I mean I’m not saying Ingram would sign with us but if he were to say he doesn’t want to play with Zion and sign on offer sheet with us. Would the pelicans really turn down a few picks. I don’t think there’s any chance knicks would trade Barrett.

Mavs 21 / 23 + and a knicks 1st for Ingram

Brogdon signed with pacers
Pacers trade to Milwaukee 1 1st (lottery protected) and 2 2nds

Deangelo Russell signed with warriors
Warriors trade to nets protected future 1st rounder

I wouldn't do it, i'm not giving up 3 first round picks just for the privilege of signing a dude, he's not lebron. He's not even melo

Ya I meant mavs 21 or 23 along with a knicks pick.
However. Ingram to me is easily worth 21/23 and a knicks pick. He’s incredibly talented scorer and 22. He’s gonna be a star in this league.

Also let’s say Knicks were crazy and did offer mavs 21+ 23 and a knicks 2022 lotto protected pick
If you were to make That deal you are still set up like this

Your line up next year can look like
PG 2020 draft
Barrett
Ingram
Randle /Knox
Mitch

Also you still have knicks 2021 draft pick the following year

might not make the playoffs. they only have one more win than detroit and chicago and have only won games when kyrie was out. their record with him is pretty much our record.

They might even be tanking. They keep their pick if they miss the playoffs. Watch them win the lottery lol.

Thankfully the Nets won that then.

Kyrie-reject Jarrett Allen came out huge in the end.

I’ll look into tables. I And-1’d him because he and I see eye to eye on KP being phony. Maybe not him or his fault but his hype ... I don’t believe in the guy and you do. Get over it and stop moralizing about sports chatter.

But KP has been shooting poor efficiency all season so to ask that we write that off because other players in the one game sample size were also inefficient doesn't really change anything about his personal chronic inefficiency. I will admit that the 2 rebounds is a statistical anomaly though as he has been averaging a respectful 9.2 this season.

What’s your point? That he had an okay game, okay. He’s a guy who gets points in few ways and isn’t really showing a lot of growth or NBA greatness. There is something about him that still gives me the idea he could grow but it’s iffy. He should be like a shooting Gobert. Instead he’s an overhyped 3 and D guy who is 7-3.

But out of goodwill I and-1d you anyway.

The only thing I like about KP is that a few times he gets the offense to its third option because he’s helping and filling the gap. He helps. His drive is interesting and getting better. Mavs should’ve waited for a second guy IMO but time will tell.

trading 3 picks for a 35-40 win treadmill team doesn't seem like a great idea. And it's possible that's what that becomes. Better to hold onto the picks.

My feelings on that though
21 mavs is unprotected. The most value able of the 3 The 23 mavs is lotto protected and converts to a 2nd if it falls into the lotto
The knicks 2022 in this scenario is lottery protected.
So if your asking me if I’d trade pick
15-30 in 2021 knicks 15-30 in 2022 mavs 15-30 in 2023 for Brandon Ingram I would without a doubt. He’s 22 and hasn’t come close to touching his prime and he’s averaging 25-6-4 on 46/39/85.

So I may be dumb but
cole or haliburton Barrett Ingram Mitch. Is a hell of a start. Not to mention still max money moving forward and all knicks picks outside of 2022 potentially if we fall out of the lottery

Same. Think about Ingram before this year, he wasn't that great his first couple years in the NBA. Averaged 9.4 ppg 4.0 rpg and 2.1 apg as a 19 y/o rookie. upped it to a decent 16.1 ppg 5.3 rpg and 3.9 apg at age 20 in year 2. Now in year 4 we have people wanting to trade multiple firsts and RJ barrett just to sign him. Why not give RJ the chance to turn into something as well. He's averaging 14.1 ppg 5.2 rpg and 2.5 apg as a 19 y/o rookie. Dude will likely be averaging 20+ppg in a couple years. Plus just look at this team, we're terrible, no need to make a win-now type of move by trading young players and picks for a (possible) all-star when it really wouldn't even move the needle. He's been putting up big numbers and the Pelicans are still bad. It's not going to put us in the playoffs. I like Ingram but I think I'd rather just wait and hope we can get our own Ingram instead of paying for top dollar at peak value

I think I could become convinced to trade 1 first rounder for him. If D'Lo got 1 and he was an all star idk why Ingram should cost any more. Plus we are dealing with a hypothetical scenario where he's told the Pelicans he doesn't want to be there with Zion and wants to sign in NY. We would have leverage, so I wouldn't think we should have to overpay
