I keep trying to think of how the knicks can get back into the lottery this year and pick twice by 14.

Why it's a weak draft. No point in spending future draft capital on it.

Unless Minn or Philli are looking to sell picks then idc.

One thing I would like to know.

Would you guys do Harris, Thybulle/#20 for Randle?

22 mill?? Hell no! Too expensive for my liking. I rather try to develop DSJ and Frank.

Why y’all acting like it’d be unprecedented to have him balk at the prospect of joining the Knicks?

Can Morris resign with the Knicks? Yes. The rule that prevents a player from resigning with his original team for 1 year only applies if the team that he was traded for waives him. Morris wasn't waived by the Clippers at any point so he'll be able to resign with the Knicks in free agency. If the Clippers traded for Morris and then waived him then, no, he would not be able to resign with the Knicks for 1 year from that day. This rule was to just cover a loophole that would allow a team to trade a player on the wink, wink notion that you're just using that player for cap purposes and really have no intent of actually having the player play for the other team that traded for him and instead plan on getting him right back.

Tobias Harris would be owed an average of about $36.6 million a year over the next 4 years. That's a lot of money for an offensive centric player that isn't a no.1 option and cant create shots for others. He's also 3 years older than Julius Randle just in case we are looking at timelines and windows. Randle and Harris has about the same eFG and TS%, Randle has averaged more assist per game and has a higher assist rate (which is scary) and rebounds better. Both guys are negative defenders (about the same level of negativity based on advanced stats). Harris is a better 3 point shooter but it's not such that it's worth 2 more years and $16 million more per for the next 2 years and then an additional 37 and 39 million respectively for the following 2 years is it? Also of the two (Harris and Randle), Harris would have even more overlap with a guy like RJ Barrett than Julius Randle since both Barrett and Harris have about the same build and the same ideal NBA position. I think if you want to bank that much money on a single player you might as well go with proven top tier no.1 options that can create for themselves and others or big time point guards that can make everyone else better and change cultures.

Then just keep waiting. 2021 free agency right around the corner. Hang tight. I’d throw that money at Jrue Holiday instead.

This pattern of overpaying players is part of what got us in the hole. We overpay, it doesn’t work out, and we lose assets to move their contract. If we can’t get a big time player so be it. Keep building through the draft. Use that cap to absorb talent or assets. Go trade for Lonzo we don’t need FVV

I would definitely take Paul over Conley or FVV, but I'd rather take my chances on the draft and developing some youth moreso than any of these options.

Problem isn't signing players problem is building roster with lack of forsight how many coaches and players got dumped to hide Knicks GM incompetence?

This catastrophe of our rosters has been a complex mess. Honestly it’s a little bit of both and more

Do it. We get a starting caliber point guard and don't have to do something stupid like trade up for LaMelo.

Philly is a mess. taking Harris off their hands would have to cost them
swap pick 21 for 27 this year
unprotected 2021 first rounder
unprotected 2023 first rounder
if they offer that I do it.

Return to New York Knicks
