He makes one bad decision after another. The mother of his child is old enough to be HIS mother. There’s something going on deep inside this troubled kid. Maybe he was abused himself as a child?

The suns said no but that doesn't mean he would have said ok well just give me #4...There would be other big assets involved in that trade.

He was potentially getting #3 plus another top 10 pick from the celtics (celtics were working on getting another top pick so he could get Lauri Markkanen as well). He was looking for more than just one top pick. And rightfully so

That was a Berman rumor though so I am not buying it. Woj was saying that he wanted Josh Jackson for the 4th pick, Devin booker was not mentioned.

I know Boston was after KP though and we could've gotten the 3rd pick. But he still would've picked Jackson with that pick instead of Tatum which would've been a fail still

It wasn't just a berman rumor. But yes I'm not debating it would be jackson because it was going to be him.

see this is the stuff outside of basketball we aren't privy too unfortunetly scouting prospects. We can't do character and background checks.

The players talent, character, and work ethic is what makes someone succeed.

He prob asked for other assets along with 4th pick. Imo I don’t think it was Booker.

All this talk about what we could have got for KP isn’t coaching related.... Phil was right but 2020 hindsight is basically just torturing ourselves over that. Honestly what KP ends up getting us isn’t decided yet.

One of the problems with Phil was he was still using the same mind games he used as a coach. He was a lazy executive and couldn't be bothered to up his game in a new role that usually did not warrant him falling back on his old bag of coaching tricks. KP's arrogance was surpassed by Phil's.

The way he publicly handled the KP situation was not well done IMO. He may have been right that KP had his own issues, but he certainly shot himself in the face in terms of maintaining KP's trade value if he was open to trading him.
