NY Knicks 2020 Draft Big Board #2 Pick - 24 Hours to VOTE!

Post#1 » by mpharris36 » Wed Jun 24, 2020 3:07 pm

The game is simple. There will always be a list of players you can vote on plus one write in option called "other" if you feel the BPA for the knicks isn't able to be voted on. Every day I will tally see who had the most votes and that player will be off the board. Then we will go down #2 and #3 pick ect.....Once someone comes off the list and they win I will add another player to the list (maybe based on write-in options)

You can comment below on why your voting for the above player you selected. Lets also try to keep this Knicks related since a general big board probably doesn't make sense. This game is if you are the knicks GM what would your big board consist of.

NY Knicks Consensus Big Board:

#1 - LaMelo Ball
4-Peat! 22-25 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart
Aaron Nesmith/Josh Hart/Jaime Jaquez
Alex Caruso/Keon Ellis/Justin Champagnie
Steph Curry/Chris Paul/Ryan Rollins

Picked Edwards, just based on the pure talent but I would consider trading back for Hayes or up or Lamelo if doable..

I went with Edwards.

If the Knicks can't get the guy in this draft that is best able to create for others (Ball), then might as well get the guy that can best create for himself (and that's Edwards).

Again, there is no ideal player in this draft and Edwards also has his warts, but from a pure talent standpoint, Edwards is arguably the most talented player in this draft. IF a team/coach can get him focused on doing things the right way while still giving him room to do his own thing, he's got elite 2-way (offense/defense) potential that can make him a perennial all-star type player.

A potential comp in where Edwards can be if prodded and poked correctly (from an overall impact/level standpoint) is a Bradley Beal level talent. Probably not a no.1 option on a top team but a heck of a no.2 on a top team or, like Beal, a no.1 on a not so top team. That's still pretty darn good a get in any draft berift of a Zion Williamson type player. Edwards may not get to a Beal level but the skills and potential is definitely there, he just need the mindset focus (which I don't think is significantly difficult)

JUST AN FYI

Hayes is interesting but it doesn't make sense to draft him here. If they like Hayes so much then they should trade down cause I can tell you some team will want Edwards pretty badly enough to offer the Knicks (who will have the no.2 overall pick with Ball gone at no.1 in this scenario) an asset to move here to trade for the draft rights Edwards. So, yeah, regardless, Edwards is who the Knicks should be picking at no.2...REGARDLESS of who they actually want.

To just outright pick Hayes here doesn't make much sense...and this poll is who the Knicks should pick at no.2 NOT who they should end up with at the end of this draft. This is about who should be picked by the Knicks at each spot. That doesn't necessarily mean that that's who will end up being a Knick.

My vote for the next player to be added after the 2nd player is decided is Cole Anthony.

I was torn between Hayes and Edwards but I ultimately went with Edwards.

Edwards and rj can be a deadly wing combo in the future.

Frank/Edwards/RJ/gallo/Mitch

Would be extremely fun to watch with a very high ceiling in the future.

it all depends about draft positioning. If say the Pistons are picking right behind us at #3 in this scenario and LaMelo is off the board...and the Pistons who need a PG will pick Hayes #3 we really can't trade back. If we want Hayes.

If they knicks believe Hayes is the 2nd best player in the draft then you just pick him second. I am tantalized by edwards ceiling enough to have him #2 on my board for the Knicks. But Hayes is a pretty close 3rd.

The answer is trade up for LaMelo.

But, Killian in this case.

Flip flopped from Wiseman to Edwards.

I like moocow's post. And if we are getting close to Hayes being thought BPA then Theo Maledon should be in the poll so I can vote him instead.

Well the Knicks should snap take him then if he is. I have no idea what people are seeing in Hayes over Maledon. Anyone?

just 99.9% of people think Hayes is better than Maledon...

one is a top 10, trending towards a top 5 pick. The other is probably outside the lottery.

I see that ... I can read. ;)

But why??? What tape are they watching? Or .. how else are they forming that opinion? Is it just that he's the son of an American ex-pro (in Europe)?
