Ben Simmons led the NBA in SPG this past season.

He's 23 years old, 2 time All-Star, and DPOY candidate. If you know me, you know how much I love Ben, but my roster construction is a choppy fit for him. Simmons gotta play pace ball, and my offense is GRIND with Embiid.

Will be extremely difficult to do as all players come out to be bid on at once. Bid closings, bidding wars, could lead to you possibly losing a key guy like Sabonis if your other bids are locked in and someone throws a poison pill contract at Sabonis knowing you have your money locked in on those other players...

The deadline for picking up or declining third/fourth year options on drafted players is tomorrow night at midnight. Currently there are 12 teams that have players that I have not heard about. If you are declining the option then you do not need to PM me. You only need to let me know if you are picking up the third/fourth year option.

Also, less then half of the league has voted on the two rule changes on the first page of this thread. If you haven't yet done so, please take a look at the potential changes and let me know what your vote is. Currently, neither change has enough votes to pass.

Why would anyone want to take on a 40% of cap player who has no jumpshot when they can easily sign someone in free agency for less money? Who has proven to not be able to win a championship..

A booker would cost you likely less money

Vote YES on S&T...we need to align GM options was closely to IRL as possible.

Vote NO on the proposed no trade clause amendment. GMs should have the right to handcuff themselves if they so choose.

Ben Simmons has been the 2nd best player on a team at 22 and 23 years old to make 2 game 7 of the Finals.

You haven’t even made the playoffs one time in your 3 years. I haven’t played these back and forth games with you in a while because, what’s the point? What kind on rivalry is it when I’ve been to back to back BAF Finals and you haven’t made the playoffs?

Your greatest victory is that you’re cheap. Who cares, lol?

Ben is my guy, and I’m still happy I won him over you years ago. Ideally, I’d get a better offer for Embiid, but no one has came close, so Simmons is the second player I can trade.

Oh yeah, multiple teams are going over $400 for Booker and Simmons is undoubtedly a better player.

62 percent free throw shooter and 0% 3pt shot..ok ...I'd take booker all day over no shot

And highly unlikely he goes for over $400, teams with capspace have more then 1 need to dump all there money on him

RULE CHANGE PROPOSALS

Voting on all rule change proposals will be open until October 1st. Majority (16) yes votes are needed to pass each proposal. Vote via PM please so I don't miss a vote in the discussion thread. Feel free to discuss either/both proposal in this discussion thread if more clarification is needed.

BAF SIGN & TRADE PROPOSAL

Once a free agent player's incumbent franchise wins a bid on the player, effectively re-signing him. That franchise would then have an initial 24hr window from the winning bid announcement time stamp, to pursue a S&T of that player with another team, if they so choose.

The incumbent franchise who's won the bid to re-sign their own player, must then notify the commissioner via PM, within the initial 24hr window of the winning the bid announcement, of their intention to S&T that player to one specific team.

That time stamped PM sent to the commissioner, would then start the clock on a secondary 24hr window to execute the S&T with the specified team.

If the trade is not consummated within the secondary 24hr window of the S&T time stamped PM that was sent to the commissioner, the re-signed player then becomes subjected to the January 15th newly signed free agent trade moratorium rule, and is no longer eligible to be moved before the aforementioned date.

TAKEAWAYS

• Team GMs can only pursue S&T scenarios for players they hold bird rights to, whom were on their roster at the end of the previous BaF season

• The ruling amendment would limit team GMs to only declare S&T intentions to the commissioner within an initial 24hr window of the winning bid announcement time stamp of the re-signed player. If the GM misses this initial 24hr window, the re-signed player is no longer eligible to be signed & traded

• The ruling amendment would also limit teams to officially pursue a S&T with one specific team, communicated to the commissioner via time stamped PM, within a secondary 24hr S&T window. This will discourage the incumbent team GM from re-signing their own player (that they don't actually want), merely to attempt to extract assets from counterpart GMs, by leveraging multiple teams against eachother during the secondary 24hr window. Limiting official S&T execution to the incumbent team and one specific team, declared to the commissioner, promotes negotiating in good faith

• Team GMs can hold preliminary unofficial S&T discussions throughout the free agency process with as many team GMs as they choose. However, once a bid is won by a team to re-sign its own player, only one specific team will be permitted to be communicated to the commissioner, via PM by the GM of the winning bid, for the official secondary 24hr S&T execution window

• The player must receive a contract of at least 3 years minimum

• S&T's can't be executed once the BaF regular season has started

• All S&T agreements are subjected to the legal terms and conditions of the salary cap constraints

Spoiler:
FOR- (13) Atl, Cle, Dal, Den, Det, GS, Hou, LAL, Mia, NO, SA, Tor, Utah

AGAINST- (1) Orl

PROPOSAL TO AMEND NO TRADE CLAUSES

No trade clauses should be reserved for top of the league players who have earned that distinction.

- Proposal- To limit NTC's only to players receiving a minimum $100/year contract offer. Anyone not good enough to receive a contract of at least 10% of the salary cap should not be receiving a no trade clause.

EXEMPT LIST

bishnykfan wrote:Reminder: Any player on the Exempt List can either have their contract frozen by their team or the team can allow a year to come off of that players contract. If a team decides to "freeze" a contract, it will simply carry over to next years roster as is. The deadline for teams to decide on their Exempt List players will be Tuesday, June 30th at midnight. Any team that does not submit a response will automatically have their EL players contract frozen and carried over to the 2020-21 season. Any questions on this process, let me know.

Deadline- Tuesday, June 30th at midnight

THIRD/FOURTH YEAR OPTIONS

bishnykfan wrote:The following list of players are all due to have their third/fourth year options picked up/declined this offseason. The deadline for this is July 5th. Any team that does not respond will automatically decline the option year on these players.

The 1/2 next to the team name shows what round of the draft each player was originally selected in. If the player is a round 2 player, the team will need to exercise the third year option in order to hold that players Bird rights going into free agency. Also, the option will need to be picked up in order to give an extension if a team wanted to go in that route somewhere down the line.

Any player with an EL next to his name is also on the EL. Teams will need to submit their EL yes/no before they can accept/decline the option year.

PM me if you choose to pickup the third/fourth year options on these players. Deadline is Sunday, July 5th at midnight.
