NY Knicks 2020 Draft Big Board #3 Pick - 24 Hours to VOTE!

Post#1 » by mpharris36 » Thu Jun 25, 2020 2:59 pm

The game is simple. There will always be a list of players you can vote on plus one write in option called "other" if you feel the BPA for the knicks isn't able to be voted on. Every day I will tally see who had the most votes and that player will be off the board. Then we will go down #2 and #3 pick ect.....Once someone comes off the list and they win I will add another player to the list (maybe based on write-in options)

You can comment below on why your voting for the above player you selected. Lets also try to keep this Knicks related since a general big board probably doesn't make sense. This game is if you are the knicks GM what would your big board consist of.

NY Knicks Consensus Big Board:

#1 - LaMelo Ball
#2 - Anthony Edwards
4-Peat! 22-25 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Walker Kessler/Daniel Gafford/Adem Bona
Nikola Jokic/Santi Aldama/Isaiah Stewart
Aaron Nesmith/Josh Hart/Jaime Jaquez
Alex Caruso/Keon Ellis/Justin Champagnie
Steph Curry/Chris Paul/Ryan Rollins

yeah I think Hayes wins this one pretty easy.

Then once all the high potential guards are off the board you going to have some people start diving into wings and bigs just because they are the best available.

But you also have a crowd that wants to go guard no matter what which will put Haliburton and Anthony in play.

Its going to get real interesting.

Hayes easily here. I just don’t see Wiseman giving us anything different than what we have with Mitch.

I'm going Obi Toppin. If were moving JR for me Obi is the next best player available. A front court of him, Mitch and RJ makes me giddy..

You didn’t see him make that one jumper from the foul line in college against South Carolina State while up 35 points?

In all seriousness, his numbers will probably be better than Mitch, especially if the foul concerns continue, but my vision for a dominate team doesn’t feature a high volume low post big that can’t defend the perimeter. The Knicks need to space out and be as versatile as possible.

Switches happen almost every single possession and Robinson gives us a fighting chance on every switch. Extremely difficult to work around. If you can’t see his overall impact when he is in the game than a Taj Gibson then idk what to tell you.

If he develops the pick and pop 3 ball that would be insane. I really don’t need all the crazy ball handling. Grab, rip, and go or let it launch.

I picked Hayes (No Surprise :) )..but say we leapfrog Goldenstate and they want Wiseman? Maybe we could extract an asset from them?

I’m buying into his offensive potential. These flashes are incredible. The ability to hit step backs, fade-aways from the mid post, bang down low, go coast to coast wit the ball is insane to pass up.

yeah those are all hypothetical and I kinda wanted to leave them out of this just so we knew are true consensus big board.

For example like this is going if we are picking #3 and Ball and Edwards are off the board (and say GS is 5 and we are 3). But Detroit is 4. We really can't risk moving down to 5 and DET scooping him up at #4 and what then are we left with at 5?

I agree. But I am worried about Mitchs contract. He is going to be UFA in 2022. We will be forced to offer him an extension next year. A agreement about the value of the extension could be challenging.

I was more convinced last year that Mitch could develop a jumper than this year just cuz he regressed from the free throw line. Rose said last night Mitch is apart of the core and I just don’t see them drafting his replacement. None of the scouting reports I’ve read on wiseman think he’s going to have a jumper either. Like you said we already know Mitch can switch and guard the perimeter and I don’t want to risk doubling down on another rim runner that might not be able too. I’d rather try to position ourselves to draft Jalen Smith later if the draft if we need a stretch big.

I feel like sophomore slumps happen a lot because players know what they need to work on in the offseason after rookie year and then try and showcase during games in the following season. Eventually gets to their heads a bit.

People then say “he hasn’t progressed!” I don’t think that’s necessarily true. Total learning experience. Same applies to Knox. We all know that dude works hard and must have been extremely frustrating for him. Whether he bounces back from it is yet to be determined.

3rd and 4th year is when we usually see if there is real progression physically and mentally.

I went wiseman 3rd but I really wanted to put obi toppin here. I’m trusting wiseman as BPA but obi would definitely be a better pick and fit for the Knicks.

tecnically he should continue to keep voting for him if he was #1 on his board so that Wiseman comes off the board closer to where he thinks he should go.

But I will allow it

But the videos shows 95% power dunks, something Mitch already does -and probably more explosively , I saw enough of the other stuff where i can't discount his growth potential but not nearly enough to be fully convinced...

For future rounds could you list the top players still available using whoever you want (tankathon?) as a guideline.

NYK have changed plan. Instead of starting 5 PFs they now are going to work on the scheme of starting 5 left-handed tweeners who can't drive right or shoot. Probably rename the team the NY Zoolanders.

Return to New York Knicks
