NY Knicks 2020 Draft Big Board #7 Pick - 24 Hours to VOTE!

The game is simple. There will always be a list of players you can vote on plus one write in option called "other" if you feel the BPA for the knicks isn't able to be voted on. Every day I will tally see who had the most votes and that player will be off the board. Then we will go down #2 and #3 pick ect.....Once someone comes off the list and they win I will add another player to the list (maybe based on write-in options)
You can comment below on why your voting for the above player you selected. Lets also try to keep this Knicks related since a general big board probably doesn't make sense. This game is if you are the knicks GM what would your big board consist of.
NY Knicks Consensus Big Board:
#1 - LaMelo Ball
#2 - Anthony Edwards
#3 - James Wiseman
#4 - Killian Hayes
#5 - Deni Avdija
#6 - Tyrese Haliburton

I did see you mention Poku in the last thread and I will absolutely consider him next too.
This is not to slight anyone...I can only add one person a day.

I went with Okongwu because he is the best available. If we’re being honest he’s probably the BPA even at 5. But I’m having a hard time picturing him next to Mitch. Yes they wound be a defensive nightmare and it would be a block party. But where is the offense other than rim running. Someone would have to really step up and start hitting jumpers with regularity.

Moo can Okonwgu and Mitch work. I highly doubt we pick him but when you envision that pairing what do you see (down the road).

yeah that is the big question. I think there will be struggles early on. It might not work especially if either one doesn't have a trust worthy jumper.
Defensively it would work because both are switchable. But spacing on offense would struggle.
I still just think he's too much value to pass up here...whether you trade it for a team that wants OO I think he is clearly the best value here.

Probably not ideal...unless Okongwu shows he can shoot quickly (he did average 72% from theline on quite a lot of free throws so there is hope).
But unless the Knicks can land a big name player in FA or trade for a top tier talent they will still be sucking. What they need to do is what Mills chose not to do is, if you can't land the big fish, you continue to develop your young players NOT sign a whole bunch of mercenaries while trying to replicate what the Nets did. Where they are at they really have no idea if Mitch Robinson will progress or if he will simply become the next Clint Capela (someone that is not worth building around). With only 1 year left on his contract the Knicks could be left in a precarious situation if someone out there wants to throw a big contract at Mitch when he becomes a FA.
I see Okongwu as having more upside than Mitch so if this is about investing in the future and what is best for the team, I'm not 100% sold on Robinson being serious enough mentally or emotionally to evolve into anything more than what he is. I see Okongwu having the same type of mentality as Barrett and that's the type of young guys you want around your team as you build and grow. I just don't see that same mindset in Mitch.
There is always the option of trading Robinson or Okongwu in any case. Nothing locks the Knicks into having to keep both players. If they feel Robinson isn't making strides early on in year 3, then there will be enough teams out there interested in trading for him. Boston for example is one and is a team that still has a ton of assets to move just right of the top. If Robinson takes the next step, there will be plenty of teams interested in what Okongwu can do and his upside.
But as I've said before, the Knicks are IMO the 2nd least talented team in the NBA (and that's really only cause we have Randle believe it or not). They need talent and impact play more than anything else right now. So you gotta go BPA above all else.
IMO the Knicks should look to try to add either CP3 or Mike Conley to the team. CP3 via some sort of "deal" with the Thunder where both teams basically split the remaining contract. Conley via FA. Someone that can help guys like Mitch and Okongwu (if that's why they end up with) grow fast and learn well.
They need BPA and Okongwu is BPA.

Agreed for the most part. I do feel that we should factor in Mitch's very late start to basketball and his otherworldly combination of size and explosion when assessing his ceiling. I agree that he does appear to have the RJ mindset but that coudl be that he just doesn't articulate it well. We'll see.

Where's my Dude Strick @, Team T2.
Here is where I start looking for my pick Tyrell Terry (thanks Doc!). I LOVE this kid for us.
IMO, is the best. T2 is a sniper from 26ft, quickest release outside of Trae Young. He has a great handle, good passing with either hand and good team defender. The only knock he weighs 160lbs.
This kid has the tools to be the best point guard imn this draft. But before trashing me, let me say, IDGAF.
T2 shoots better than LaMelo, Halliburton and Killian. Has the highest IQ of all of them combined..(don't Google that, you won't find it)
This will be our 2009 revision, when we missed Steph. This year we have redemption.
What you will find is this. But beware, it's for serious draft junkies only. No cute analysis, just game clips of good and bad plays, (draft junkies or scouts only). Even Melo couldn't finish it. (couldn't help it Melo)
