RJ and Mitch off the bench confirmed. And the circle won't be broken.

prefer not to be totalling negative...but hiring a former agent, all signs point to a vet coach like Thibs, talks about trading for a establish star.

All signs keep leading down a specific type of road which has some people worried, and rightfully so because this is how the knicks have operated over the last 2 decades.

In this season we didnt had many vets in the roster. Only Morris (great), Bullock (ok), Taj (average) and Wayne (bad). The rest of the players were kids between 19 to 25 years old.

The problem is not the lack or excess of vets. Its the lack of talent.

But talent vets usually dont lead us to long term solution. We cant build a team around them and there are the risk of dead cap space due to injuries. Its great to have 2 or 3 on the rotation. But we cant overreact.

Maybe don't give out 10-15M year contracts to placeholders this time. Other than Morris, no one they signed was worth more than $5M a year. And Randle doesn't count, because you can argue he's worth more than $5M, but he sure ain't a $20M/yr player by a long stretch

this!

those quotes from begley are not bad, actually. we only need our good young players to get heavy minutes. absolutely no reason to give the triers, smiths, even knox a lot of minutes, or pretend that payton, randle or portis are "young core players".

Y’all keep wanting to take the summer league starting five into the season. Ain’t no coach signing up for that. And it’s not how you grow a culture. We need vets. But the right ones.

So there’s no source here besides the voices in Begleys head?

Not that there’s no logic to reach that conclusion, however, I don’t think we have much of an idea what next season’s roster will be. Not ready to speculate.
