My dream would be to move up from 26 to 17-22 and draft Kira or Tyrell. There are not many teams who have the need for tiny point guards.

who's gonna represent for the draft lottery?

2019: Pat (fell from 1 to 3)
2018: Perry (stayed at 9)
2017: Clyde (fell from 7 to 8)
2015: Mills (fell from 2 to 4)

If we can come away with a lamelo/tyrell draft I would literally cry.

I'd try to move up a little further to get 1 of Vassell, Nesmith, or Bey

that #15 Magic pick looks awfully intriguing. would you all do #15 and Aminu for the draft rights to 1 (or more) of: Sanon, Jaramaz, Labeyrie ?

WWW works in the shadows tho, he's the guy I'd put in the back room where they do the drawing (virtually this year I guess)

We are so fixated in drafting a guard that perhaps getting an elite big might actually be the right step in bringing us closer to contention.

James Wiseman no matter what.

"James Wiseman no matter what" ???

We have Mitchell Robinson. A 2 C lineup isn't gonna work, considering both are complete unknowns from the 3PT line (and I dont want to see some workout video of them shooting 3's, I've seen WCS look great too, I want to see it in an NBA game)

spacing would be terrible, not to mention both are at their best defending the rim (which Mitch does better), by playing both together, one would have to guard the perimeter (taking away much of their appeal)

Don't get me wrong, Wiseman is a top 3 talent in this draft, but Ball and Edwards are just as talented (most think they're even more talented than Wiseman) and are better roster fits

I just dont see in how Mitch and Wiseman would co-exist. If we didnt have a young stud at C, I'd be all for taking Wiseman, but C is the one position that we're set at. C is not like G or W where those positions on the court are more fluid, a center is a center.

For me building a team is not adding new things to a fixed structure. There are a lot of moving parts.

Difference will lie in how we view Mitch. I like him but to label him as a “young stud” for me is pushing it and I don’t view him as an immovable piece and a franchise cornerstone. If that is your view then I respect it completely.

I was in the camp that did not want to even entertain the thought of trading Mitch for AD. But ultimately he did not make the sophomore jump I was hoping for him to take. I don’t want to come out as impatient but I did not see improvement in his game. My fears about his laid back and happy go lucky personality pulling him back came to form when he asked Giannis for his sneakers like a lovestruck fan after we got humiliated by the Bucks.

That is my view and apologies if it is not the same as yours. If roster construction is the problem then I would draft Wiseman then see what value I can get for Mitch. Should be something if the league values him in the same breadth we do.

That’s a good point. Let him work his magic in the shadows. I’d be cool with Rose looking like a Sopranos extra with WWW in the background making things happen

Sure there are a bunch of moving pieces, but it seems that 2 pieces are considered building blocks: RJ and Mitch

Mitch was pretty damn good in year 2. he was tied for 5th in blocks despite playing just 23MPG, he's a great rim protector, he set the all-time record for FG%, he's a great offensive rebounder (7th OREB%), 13th in PER, and he reduced his fouling (especially from FEB. to end of season)

no, he's not the Embiid type C who can put up 30 on any given night (he's more like Gobert), but he plays winning basketball; and the Knicks were at their best when he was on the floor. Mitch has legitimate DPOY potential

talkathon has our 2nd rounder at 39. I thought that the 8 teams left out were locked, and the Wizards finishing worse than the Hornets didnt effect the draft order. Does that not apply for the 2nd round?

The lottery should carry us through till the draft. At least then we'll know who is realistic for us.

I've been asking about this too. Apparently according to them it doesn't, but I can't get any confirmation on this.

not yet, boston could still blow the last game or even if they win the clips can go 2-0 and i guess it would force a coin toss. root hard for a clippers loss tomorrow and a boston win thursday to seal it
