Which NBA Team can Leon dupe into acquiring King Julius

This is the key to the offseason. I know we have a trade discussion thread but I wanted to feel the pulse of the board on this team. I dont think any of us can tolerate watching this clown play for another year. The silver lining is that he is essentially a one year deal (yes I know about the guaranteed money year 3).
What team can Leon ship this man to and what asset would we be willing to attach for the greater good of the future of the franchise? This is year 4 for Frank, year 3 for Mitch, year 2 for RJ. You cant have a guy like this on the team and expect anything good to come out of it besides him bumbling and stumbling to 18 and 9. He's a developmental killer thanks to Pills.
How can Leon reverse the damage?

It is the role he was put in that was a big part of the problem. The roster construction and the HC having to win with vets instead of the green light security to develop kids.
Now...once again...we have a new FO... another new HC/staff... expected to be a bit of roster turnover... economic uncertainty. What direction are we going?
As for trading Randle...what teams would he fit on? More importantly...what does the market actually look like in the covid era? I'm certain many teams are going to be looking to spend wisely going forward. Some may look to shed salary. I can't realistically see how to make any moves until we get an idea of when/if/how the NBA has a season after the playoff bubble ends. This will not be like any other off season. FA...draft...trades...will all be impacted by the loss of revenue already happening and how they make profits/pay bills moving forward.

i think randle can be a cap space tool for a bad contract if we want to eat one for assets. i don't like the idea of using assets to get rid of someone we could effectively buy out if we really couldn't stand him.

Damn we gotta get back on topic guys. Getting rid of Julius is serious business.
Alright...who do we dupe into taking Julius (and not taking our assets).
-Atlantic ...looks like a no-go unless we want Horford lol
-Central ...don't really see anybody
-Southeast ... maybe the Hornets? But I would be putting my minutes into Miles Bridges if I were the Hornets
-Northwest...some Wolves bloggers brought up Julius (someone brought this up a while back), but that would be dumb of them. Blazers? OKC --- if they lose Gallo and get super desperate?
-Southwest...some people here brought up Dallas.
-Pacific --- If we dump Julius on Phoenix, we might be able to convince Booker to leave.
A lot of it feels like we gotta give up an asset or wait for an opportunity out of our control (a not as competent GM)

There are also people who actively want to draft Obi Toppin, so there are more who like Julius Randle, but wish he jumped a little higher

I would target players who would be a better fit on this roster, where we can save the other team significant salary, who are on a 1 year deal.
Julius to Chicago for Otto Porter? Chicago saves $7mil this year
much better fit then Julius. 3+D
Julius to Utah for Mike Conley? Utah saves $13mil this year
solves Knicks need for a short term PG

not giving up an asset to trade an expiring contract. if we are taking on longer term salary I'd want an asset in return otherwise just wait it out

I will do CP3 for Randle if OKC throws in assets.
Randle + future 2nd round pick for Schroeder is a good deal too if OKC wants to hold on to CP3(doubt it)

Like is strong but "put up with until the right trade" is closer to the truth. In other words I don't need to trade him this summer out of hate. Cooler heads prevail. Lets see what Thibs can do, perhaps elevate his game just enough to get some ok value.
But if you got a good trade right now be my guest.

for some reason I don't think Randle will ok getting paid 20 MM and coming off the bench in a 20 minute a night role during a contract year. If we want a clean slate of players buying in I think it important to remove Randle from the equation.

So, lots of Randle hate on here, and he has some attributes that aren't that likable, play wise.
But, guy is not without talent if used properly, to me, getting 6th man minutes backing up C and PF,
BUT, if the Knicks can't deal him, in the offseason, it's not THAT big a deal.
He's effectively expiring. Might make him movable at the deadline. Or not. But anyway, he's 22 million coming off the books, either for the Knicks or another team. Or, would he be more like 17 million expiring, in that he's 22 million but have a 5 million player option guaranteed for the following year.
Still - actual useful player plus 17 million off the books

they would save a couple million on the cap...but they would be replacing Batum who really plays no role on that team for randle who can produce. They would have to like Randle...maybe MJ/kupchak are dumb enough to think Randle can help?
